Dr.Vinod Kumar

Prof. (Dr.) Vinod Kumar has 28 years’ experience of Academic Administration.  He is recipient of UGC merit scholarship for pursuing his M.Phil and Ph.D. He  has served  Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya  in various capacities such as Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Coordinator IQAC,  Founder Principal ( College of Engineering and Technology), Founder Dean ( Faculty of Technology), Founder Head ( Department of Computer Science)  apart from serving various other committees as member and  chairman. For two years he has been Director, Vidya College of Engineering as well as Director General, Vidya Knowledge Park, Meerut. He has 39 years’ experience of teaching and research. He started his teaching career as a lecturer at BITS, Pilani (Rajasthan) in 1983 and worked there for about 2 Years. Thereafter, he joined REC Kurukshetra (presently known as NIT Kurukshetra) and continued there for about seven years in various capacities.  In 1992, he joined Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, as Reader in Computer Science where he completed several developmental projects. He has worked as a Professor, Department of Computer Science for more than 22 years.  Eighteen researchers have already got the degree of Ph.D. awarded under his guidance.  He has published more than 100 research papers in various national/ international journals/ conferences of repute and delivered   about 110 invited talks, keynote addresses and convocation addresses to various institutions. He has been honored by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand for his achievements in teaching and research in 2016 and Her Excellency, Governor of Uttarakhand honored him by “Mahamana Malviya Samman” in 2019. He is associated with several academic and research societies as a member with IEEE(USA) and ACM (USA), Senior Life Member of Computer Society of India, Life Member of System Society of India,  International Goodwill Society, Ramanujan Mathematical Society and  Indian Science Congress Association. He has been working as member expert committees of various national  organizations such as  UGC (New Delhi), AICTE (New Delhi), DOEACC society of Department of Electronics of Govt. of India: NIELIT (New Delhi) and National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. He has attended more than 60 National and International conferences/Seminars in India and abroad, where he has chaired various technical sessions, delivered invited talks and presented technical papers. His research interest includes Distributed Systems, Reliability Engineering and Network Security as well as Vedic Science.
