Students must carry their identity cards while entering in the Library premises.
The library has an open cum closedaccess system.
Dictionary Classified catalogue in three Keys- Author, Title and Subject is available at the Circulation Section, which may be referred in case of difficulty in finding books or use SGT Library OPAC page service.
Students can search the books themselves or they can take the help of library staff if they cannot locate the book on the shelf or if the book is out of their reach.
The Library staff reserves the right to ask any user who is not complying with library rules or does not carrying the library Membership/ID Card in the library premises to leave the library or even cancel the membership.
The reminders for the overdue books are sent through mail or displayed on the library notice board, but it is not obligatory on the part of the library authorities to do so. Members are advised to avoid the overdue and return library sources before time; otherwise overdue late will be charged. If the overdue late fee limit crosses then books will not be checkout.
Readers proceeding on leave for more than one month must return their library books to avoid fines.
Users are requested to return all the borrowed collections to the library before leaving the University and take No-dues certificate.
Check the book at the time of issuing, In case of any defect or damage, please inform the library staff. Otherwise, you will be held responsible for any damage, and the user will be responsible for further action.
Users are requested to visit their mail ID for alerts of overdue books or you can login into the SGT University Library OPAC service for books circulation information.
Do not tear, fold or underline pages of books, journals or magazines.
Do not dislocate documents from their position on the bookshelves if not required for consultation.
Silence must be maintained in & around the library at all times. Discussion is not allowed inside the library & switch off the mobiles.
All personal belongings should be kept outside the library on the user property counter. Personal and issued books, bags, overcoats, umbrellas, pets and children shall not be permitted inside the library.
Books will be issued according to the circulation policy and for a given period only.
A borrower shall not transfer the book to others; putting the legs on top of the chairs and tables is not allowed.
The Librarian may recall any book at any time.
Dictionaries / Reference books / Encyclopedias / Periodicals / Magazines can be consulted in the library only. These will not be issued ordinarily.
The Librarian is incharge and is responsible for supervision and discipline inside and around the library. He has the right to ask a person to leave the premises in case of misbehavior.
Speaking loudly, eating, smoking, gossiping are totally prohibited in the library and constitute misbehavior.
Readers shall not mark or damage the books or any library property. Users are urged to kindly take care of the books.
In case of damage or loss of a book, the member shall be required to replace the book in the same format of binding and information, but the edition should be new or pay double the cost of the book as decided by the Library committee.
Users are encouraged to make good use of the library without any restriction, and the best use will be considered for award.
The library shall be under the control of the library committee constituted by the Dean's in respect of the policy matters only.
Indiscipline or breach of any rules will lead to cancellation of membership of the library.
