“MediaMaze” 2023 Media Festival at SGT University

Being creative requires courage and the ability to overcome insecurities in front of a potentially unfriendly audience. But if you can pull it off, you can leave a lasting impression on people.

The idea behind “MediaMaze” was simple: to organize a few outdoor activities that would enable students to express themselves and prepare them for a world where visibility is a constant demand. However, the participants’ enthusiasm turned it into a two-day event filled with fun and rigor, with everyone showcasing their artistic skills.

The event was organized by the Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology, which offers news and media courses at SGT University. Students from more than 25 colleges and universities across the nation participated in various categories, including photography, dance, street play, and mad libs. Notable institutions that participated included Lovely Professional University, Punjab; Noida International University, Uttar Pradesh; APJ Institute of Mass Communication, Delhi; IILM University, Haryana; Kurukshetra University, Haryana; Delhi Metropolitan Education, Uttar Pradesh; and Army College of Medical Sciences, Delhi.

Success for SGT at NMCC (National Moot Court Competition) 2023

The most recent SGT University news that spread like wildfire was that the Faculty of Law won the Best Researcher Award at The National Moot Court Competition 2023 of LAW TRYST, organized by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Jitendra Chauhan College of Law, Mumbai. The students who brought home the gold were Vasundhara (BA LLB 5th year), Yash Bhardwaj (BA LLB 3rd year), and Chailsi Singh (BBA LLB 2nd year).

International Recognition of FMMT

SGT University’s Faculty of Mass Communication and Media Technology received the Best Media Institute Award – 2023 from the International Council of Journalists (ICJ) and the Newspapers Association of India (NAI), which is fantastic news for us.

SGT University’s Sunil Jaglan Features in an Episode of Mann Ki Baat

An outstanding piece of SGT University news that uplifted the entire university was the news that Mr. Sunil Jaglan, Outreach Advisor at SGT University and the creator of the “Selfie with Daughter” campaign, was invited to be the guest of honor for the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat, as part of a series of episodes organized by Institute Prasar Bharti.

The “Selfie with Daughter” campaign, which began in Bibipur in 2015, has spread to more than 80 countries. He was Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guest at the Mann Ki Baat Conclave on April 26th, which was a moment of great pride for the entire state of Haryana, especially for SGT University.

SGT’s very own Gulam Rizvi is part of IPL 2023!

The best news for SGT University in March was the announcement that Mr. Gulam Rizvi, Creative Director, had been selected to be a member of the Bhojpuri Commentary Team for IPL 2023, alongside movie star and MLA (Gorakhpur), Ravi Kishan. “Anyone who has followed public discourse can see how much the Bhojpuri dialect is popular among the national audience for IPL. It has also resulted in a significant increase in TRP,” he told major newspapers across the country.

The Faculty of Mass Communication & Media Technology at SGT University hosted a successful Alumni Connect-2023 event for its students. The event brought together Mass Communication alumni from various batches who shared their experiences of how the education and exposure they received at SGT University aided them in their professional lives.
