For SGT University, this time of year typically only means one thing: hosting Synergy, our signature event. The fourth iteration of this massive techno festival gave students an experience unlike any other, and, as we had promised, it built on the accomplishments of the first three. Here is a statistical overview of the scale of Synergy 2023: –

This year delivered on both the technological and cultural fronts, taking everything to the next level. We all watched the mega-event in its entirety, and it was clear that our students and faculty had worked exceptionally hard. More than 300 projects from students were presented, covering topics like robotics, sustainable products, medical technology, media technology, dental and other healthcare, and many more.

Their cutting-edge technological inventions included, to name a few, a bionic eye, an electric bike, a seam ripper machine, and a multipurpose agricultural machine. In addition, there were a variety of cultural performances, such as the Nukkad Natak, which moved us with its powerful visual depictions of social issues, as well as elegant traditional dance forms and melodious Bollywood singing.

The event saw prominent leaders and changemakers, from both industry and state, visit and review our students’ work. Three out of the five dignitaries were from the pharmaceutical industry, and they especially liked the work done by our medical faculties in patient healthcare and support. With their practical approaches to complex problems like climate change, disease transmission, mental health, etc., these projects stood out to our panel of judges in the sea of innovation. They were awarded with trophies and cash prizes at the valedictory ceremony in the presence of Managing Trustee Sh. Manmohan Singh Chawla, Chairperson Smt. Madhupreet Kaur Chawla, Chancellor Padmashree Ram Bahadur Rai, Vice Chancellor Dr. O.P. Kalra, and other senior university functionaries.

• Third – SGT College of Pharmacy (Eco-friendly Mosquito Repellent)

Technology & Innovation:

• First – Faculty of Engineering and Technology (Recycled Steel Slag Castings)
• Second – Faculty of Dental Sciences (Chewing Cleaners)
• Third – Faculty of Engineering and Technology (Beast Banisher)

Sustainable Research Development:

• First – Faculty of Agricultural Sciences (Effective Management of Parali, for Preparation of Aggarbati, Flowerpots, Seedling Containers, and Hawan Tikki)
• Second – SGT College of Pharmacy (Vita Quench: Nutrition Packed with Fizzy Taste)
• Third – Faculty of Dental Sciences (Empowering visually Impaired Individuals for Good Oral Health 2.0) (Netra Jyoti Muskaan)

Conclusion

It is rare when high expectations are met, but even rarer when they are exceeded. Living up to its name, Synergy ended up being a brilliant mash of tech and culture, and of ingeniousness and creativity. Something like this is only possible due to the immense efforts of hundreds of students, faculties, and staff. SGT University always stands as best private universities in Delhi NCR for such events.
