Prof. (Dr.) Waheeda Khan

Dr. Waheeda Khan is currently Professor and Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, SGT University. Before joining SGTU, she served as Head of the Department; Director Sarojni Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies and University Counseling & Guidance Centres and was Co-ordinator of IGNOU Study Centre at Jamia Millia Islamia (a Central University), New Delhi. She has been appointed Adjunct Faculty, Co-guide and member of Ph.D Advisory Committee, School of Behavioral Sciences, Texila American University (Distance & Online Program, 2013-2015), Georgetown, South America. She is recommended for Emeritus Professor UGC, 2016-18; and pursuing UGC-UKIERI Thematic Partnership International project in collaboration with Open University, UK and Psychology department of Jamia Millia Islamia. She has more than 25 years academic and administrative experience, has supervised 26 Ph.D students, published 60 research papers including 20 book chapters in reputed indexed journals. She has been Visiting Fellow in 2015 in the faculty of Psychology, State Islamic University of Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia and Visiting Professor, faculty of Psychology, Universiti Teknologi (UTM), Johor, Malaysia. She availed Visiting Research Fellow status in 2014-16 at the Department of Psychology, Open University, Walton Hall, Milton Keynes, UK. She was appointed Visiting Fellow UGC in the Department of Psychology, Sardar Patel University, Ahmedabad, Gujarat in 2014. Received “Significant Contribution Award” in Psychology Discipline in the International Conference on “Multidisciplinary Healthcare” organized by AIIMS, New Delhi, 2014; and also received “Distinguished Women Psychologist” award by Gurukul Kangri University Haridwar in 2009. She was nominated Nodal Training Officer in HIV/AIDS counseling by NACO, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, and has organized number of training programs for defense, paramilitary personnel, counselors; and has organized a number of workshops/symposia/seminars, both National and International level. She has travelled number of countries to pursue her academic interests and visited USA, Canada, UK, China, Australia, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Malaysia, Singapore, Pakistan and Bangladesh.
