Prof. (Dr.) Rajbir Singh, Dean & Professor of Faculty of Behavioural Sciences has been into teaching and research in the field of Psychology for more than four decades. He has served as a Professor, Department of Psychology, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. He did his Post Graduation in Psychology from Meerut University, Meerut (1977). He completed M. Phil in Psychology from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur (1979) and Ph. D from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur on “Behaviour of free ranging rhesus monkeys” (1981). He specializes in the area of Positive Psychology, Psychobiology, Neuropsychology.
He had served as a Lecture and Reader in Psychology at Department of Psychology, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra for over 10 years. He then joined Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak as Professor of Psychology at Department of Psychology in 1991 and superannuated in December 2016. Then after, he joined SGT University, as Professor of Psychology in February 2017. He has occupied the position of Dean, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences from August 2021.
Prof. (Dr.) Rajbir Singh has completed a UGC sponsored Major Research Project on “Belief in Heredity – Environment about Human characteristics in relation to social perception”. He has personally made significant research contributions for the benefit of Village people Health and well-being under UGC-SAP project (2004-2014) on Health Psychology. He has also completed DST sponsored project of “Cognitive Preparedness” from 2014-2016.
During his academic career of 40 years, he has served on various administrative positions as 3 terms of HOD in PG departments, served as Dean Student Welfare for 13 years in MDU, Rohtak and Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences for the period of 3 years.
Prof. Rajbir Singh is a life member of Indian Science Congress Association and Indian Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP). He has published 7 books and more than 70 research articles in National and International Journals of repute. Around 30 research scholars have completed their Ph.D thesis under his supervision.
