Prof. (Dr.) Pity Koul

Prof. Pity Koul working as a Professor and Dean, Faculty of Nursing, SGT University. She is a graduate from College of Nursing (National Institute of Nursing Education) PGI Chandigarh P.U. (1982), Post graduate in Public Administration from Punjab University, Chandigarh, Post-graduate form Delhi University, RAK College of Nursing in paediatric Nursing(1988), PhD from Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi (2004) & Post Graduate Diploma in Distance Education from IGNOU, New Delhi(1996).
She has more than 40 years of teaching experience in various positions in School of Health Science(SOHS) Indira Gandhi National Open university; Director , Professor Associate Professor, Assistant Professor. She was also Project co-ordinator/ Project Director for developing & implementing flagship Certificate Program of community Health Officer(CHO) under Ayushman Bharat scheme all over country developed in collaboration with NHM MOHFW GOI. She was Director, School of Health Sciences (SOHS), New Delhi before joining SGT University She has also worked as faculty for more than 11 years in Department of Nursing education /Nursing Administration at SKIMS Soura Srinagar Kashmir.
She has been awarded National Presidential Award (National Florence Nightingale Award 2017) by the Hon’ble President of India, Award of appreciation by, AICTE . AICTE planted a tree in her name2021, life time achievement award by Nursing Scholar Society (NSS),best Nurse award by NSS, Best Teacher award, 2022 by Nursing teacher’s Association of India.“Award of excellence” and life achievement award as Best Researcher, Teacher, Educator and Clinical Practice by Nursing Teacher’s Association of India.
She is a recipient of National and International, fellowships from Government of India, WHO & UNICEF.
She has been in various task force and core committee meetings conducted by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and NHSRC, GOI. She was member of Task force for integration of IGNOU Community Health Program in BSc. Nursing and PBBSc. Nursing of INC
She has been member of various statutory bodies of IGNOU Academic Council, Research Council, student support services including chairperson of school council, School board, Moderation and Doctoral Committee.
She is a member of large no. of National Professional bodies such as TNAI, NRSI, NNF, &NNF Delhi, IAP, PNNFI, ANEI, SOMI, KECSS, IANN, ICHA, AIKS, NTAI, NSS, Member of nursing Honour society etc. and has been secretary and office bearer of various Professional bodies.
She is a president of Paediatric and Neonatal Nurses Forum (PNNFI) India, &President of Nurses Teachers Association of India (NTAI), Delhi NCR. She has been secretary general and joint secretary of Nursing Research Society of India (NRSI), She was Advisor of Student Nurses Association of India SNA, J&K.
She has been a member of Governing bodies of National Neonatology Forum9 NNF) and member of editorial board of Journal of National Neonatology Forum. She was a member of Editorial Board of Nursing journal of India and member of Continuing Education Committee of Trained Nurses Association of India.

She has conducted large no. of research projects and published book on Nursing research & statistics and information Booklet for Nursing Research Society. She has also published various chapters in Books, manuals etc and Book reviews. She has published large no of research and review articles in indexed Journals and Newspapers. She has developed innovative curriculum for various programmes and written and edited large no of chapters and module.
She has organised large no of conferences , workshops, Webinars, guest lectures and has presented a large no. of papers at Regional, National and International level conferences ,seminars and workshops. She has also presented papers at various universities in USA, UK, China, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar.

She has also designed &developed innovative curricula for various courses such as diploma degree & Doctoral courses and developed, prepared/written and edited course material, Audio &video programs etc. She has been teaching various courses including PhD. in Nursing using various innovative techniques such as teleconferencing, web counselling, interactive radio counselling including face to face teaching/learning
She has also coordinated various degree, diploma & certificate and online programs of Allied Health Sciences/ Paramedical Courses and health sciences courses. She was one of the advisor for Amity University to start BSC Nursing Program. She was member board of studies in various universities and chairperson for ethical committee at ILBS and chairperson of curriculum committee of ILBS for designing two Nurse practitioner Programmes. She was part of developing ordinance and regulation for nursing programmes in a few universities
She has been invited as a Resource person, chief guest, guest of Honour at various National and International level conferences and forums.
She was invited as expert for NAAC advice & guidance related to NAAC by nursing institute/s.
She has carried out many Research projects , ., She is a guide and has guided around 15 Scholars who have been awarded doctorate under her supervision and supervised and coordinated award of degree for 35 scholars .
She has been member of board of examiners evaluator and paper setter for PhD in various university in various universities and paper setter evaluator ,moderato and examiner of various undergraduate and postgraduate courses .
She has been member of selection committee of Professor, Associate Professor, Asst. Professor and tutor in various Universities.
