The dental facility at the university caters to oral health needs of a large number of patients from the surrounding 150 villages especially from low income groups, thus providing to the area, a state of the art dental set-up. We take special care of the underprivileged & the needy groups of the society as a part of our social responsibility towards humanity.

Furthering this endeavor the department of Public Health Dentistry has set-up a satellite dental care center since 2009. The satellite centre at Blind Relief association, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, shares a vision to provide access to children with varying degrees of visual impairment with easy access to oral health based services. This center works as nodal center to provide dental care, awareness & motivation to the children and vocational training members residing at the Blind Relief Association, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The faculty, postgraduates, students & interns at the department are involved in running out-reach dental care satellite centers along with the help of the public relations department, which helps render dental health care to the people at their doorsteps. The services involve providing comprehensive oral health check-up, treatment and referral to the specialized departments at the college for advanced dental treatment, all of which are provided free of cost. The people are given basic oral health education by use of live demonstrations and posters. Our postgraduate, Dr. Charu Khurana has undertaken research in the area to develop oral hygiene instructions in the Brail language which has been helpful in improving oral health the blind children.

Over the past years, the centre has catered to the oral health needs of hundreds of children through weekly once visits through screening, education, and comprehensive oral health care, thus providing them with better chances and quality of life. We keep on celebrating important oral health days at the center. We celebrated National tooth brushing day on 7th November in the past two years, wherein we screened the children at the center and distributed free toothbrushes and toothpastes in collaboration with Colgate Palmolive India Pvt. Ltd.
