The Faculty of Nursing became part of SGT University in 2013 as the Dashmesh College of Nursing in 2012. The Faculty of Nursing aims to develop and produce highly professional nurses worldwide. The nursing students are prepared to work in multi-sectoral and inter-sectoral collaborations.
These students foster to deliver primary health care services to the patients. The Faculty has tie-ups with various renowned hospitals and community centres to improve the student’s clinical & community experience. The university also has a linked transport facility for students across Delhi and the surrounding regions of Haryana. The teachers put extra emphasis on research-related activities with the active participation of students.
SGT University has recently established Asia’s biggest National Reference Simulation Centre on the University campus in partnership with the Indian Nursing Council, Jhpiego and Laerdal Medical for skill and simulation training of nursing students.
SGT Hospital contains more than 850 beds catering to the needs of the local population with all specialities. The students pursuing nursing degrees are also given a first-hand experience by providing internships in SGT hospital and giving them a good and healthy working environment.
State-of-the-art Infrastructure in the Faculty of Nursing
The Faculty of Nursing has a modern infrastructure, with a well-stocked library, fully ventilated classrooms, and centrally air-conditioned Wi-Fi enabled 60 inches interactive panels.
The Faculty of Nursing also has well-equipped laboratories like Fundamentals of Nursing Lab, Obstetrics and Gynaecology Lab, Child Health Nursing Lab, Community Health Nursing Lab, Nutrition Lab, Anatomy Lab, Computer Lab, etc.
The Faculty has access to the multi-speciality SGT Hospital, Advanced and well-resourced Library, Multipurpose hall for students, and separate girls’ and boys’ common rooms.
Students are provided with complete access to the machines and tools to have comprehensive knowledge of all the things they will be working on in the future.
Faculty of Nursing Placements
Faculty of Nursing has collaborated with various hospitals and provides exposure to students for learning during their course work like in Civil Hospital and Medanta Hospital.
We train them at CHCs, and PHCs in different districts and internships are provided to our students in parent hospitals for community exposure. Hospital linkages for campus placements with BLK, Paras Hospital, Cloud Nine, Medanta, and Park Hospital and we also emphasise for migration of nurses to Germany, etc.
Campus placements are also held regularly where the university recruits the students in various departments on the campus itself.
