Prof. K. R. Dabur

Professor (Dr.) K.R. Dabur joined as Dean Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at SGT University, Gurgaon on 12th May 2016. Dr K. R. Dabur graduated from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar in 1977. He also did his post graduation from HAU. Hisar in 1979. He joined HAU, Hisar as Assistant Professor in 1979 and served there in various capacities in Department of Nematology. He obtained his Ph. D. degree in 1989. He was elevated to the post of Professor in October 2000. He was deeply involved in exploring the biodiversity of nematodes of Haryana state and developing management strategies for nematode pests of rice, wheat, vegetable crops and pulse crops. He has been instrumental in describing Cephalenchus intermedius, Cryphodera kelesari, Indaphelenchus Siddiqi, Prathlenchus Bhatti, P. panamensis, P.curvicauda, Subanguina chrysopogoni and Trichotylenchus monosexualis as new taxa. Biology of rice root-knot Nematode under Haryana conditions were studied in details and strategies for management were investigated. He also developed management technology for the management of rice root-knot nematode using crop rotation and application of bio-agents. He has standardized and demonstrated to the vegetable growers the integrated management practices of root-knot nematode in tomato and brinjal crops. He was Prof & Head Dept. of Nematology at CCS HAU, Hisar from 1st January 2011 to 31st May 2014. He has been Principal Investigator and Co-Principal Investigator of a number of Projects on Nematode Investigations and their Management, funded by National and International Funding Agencies. He has a number of manuals and books to his credit in the field of plant nematology. He has actively participated in and has been Chairman and Co-chairman of various Academic Forum including Symposia, Seminars, Workshops, etc, during his service career. He has been Group Leader of All India Coordinated Research Project of his Centre. He has attended a number of Trainings at national and international level. He has organized a number of Kisan Divas, Nematode Awareness Days, Kisan Melas, Field Days and other activities to make nematodes familiar among the farming community.
