Guest Lecture by Dr. Rajesh Vyas at SGTU

SGT University was honored by the benign presence of Dr. Rajesh Vyas in its premises on April 10, 2019. Dr. Rajesh Vyas is a man of extraordinary caliber and repute and his achievements manifolds. Dr.Rajesh Vyas joined U.S. Foreign Embassy in 2006 and is currently serving as a Regional Medical Officer at US Embassy in New Delhi. He is also responsible for providing medical care at regional posts, which includes US Consulates in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and US Embassy Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Dr. Vyas is responsible for providing primary health care to all US diplomats and their families and for credentialing best trained medical specialist and hospitals in his region. He also coordinates medical care of mission members and VIP visits with Medical Base Hospitals and White House Medical team. He can also be credited for facilitating better health care alliance between various nations.

Dr. Vyas’s visit at SGT University, on April 10, 2019, was an enlightening experience. His visit began with a round to the SGT Simulation Lab. He was highly impressed by the cutting edge infrastructure of the simulation lab. In fact, in his remark, he wrote, “Excellent simulation lab of western standards with dedicated and motivated staff which is quite impressive” which was a feather added to the repute of the University.

After his visit to the Simulation Lab, he addressed the nursing and medical undergraduate and postgraduate students. In his speech, he elaborated how he failed a number of times in life, but that didn’t deter him from trying again and bouncing back. He remarked one incident when he was denied visa multiple numbers of times, but still, that didn’t stop him from achieving his goals.
On the professional front, he emphasized the importance of empowering the nurses. He said that this would stop the unjust treatment of nurses as second class citizens and raise their position in the field of medical sciences.

SGT University is gratified and revered that such an eminent personality visited the campus. His visit will always reminisce down SGT University’s memory lane for years to come.
