Scholarship Policy

SUBJECT: SCHOLARSHIP POLICY OF SGT UNIVERSITY FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2020-21.

The scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession will be awarded to the meritorious students at the time of admission and subsequent years for students admitted in Academic Session 2020-21.

AT THE TIME OF ADMISSION

UG COURSES

The scholarship will be admissible to students of UG courses (except for the Faculties of Medicine & Health Sciences, Dental Sciences, Indian Medical System on the basis of marks obtained as under :

  1. PCB/M/CS with English as one of the subject OR
  2. Best of four subjects with English as one of the compulsory subject

For calculating percentage for scholarship, the subsidiary subjects i.e. Drawing, Music, Physical Education etc. will not be considered:

Marks Obtained Quantum of Scholarship
(a)       90% and above                                            : 100%
(b)       75% and above but less than 90%            : 50%
(c)        60% and above but less than 75%            : 25%

 

The scholarship for the student of lateral entry will also be admissible as per the above criteria. To ascertain their eligibility, the aggregate marks will be considered.

5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession (10% for Law programs) will be awarded to the Girl candidates who will be admitted in Non-medical courses (including Behavioral Sciences), over and above the % mentioned at (b) and (c) (both) above.

The Girls candidates seeking admission in the Law programs and not covered in the scholarship slabs will be awarded flat 10% scholarship in the form of tuition fee concession.

The candidates seeking admissions in B. Tech. programs and not covered in the scholarship slabs will be awarded flat 10% scholarship in the form of tuition fee concession.

If any candidate will be admitted in Non-medical courses (including Behavioral Sciences), with the recommendations of the Principal of any School, will be granted 5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession, if he/she produces the recommendation letter of the Principal.

PG COURSES

For PG Courses, the scholarship will be given in the Faculties of Commerce & Management (except MCA), Behavioral Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, Mass Communication & Media Technology, Education, Law, Hotel & Tourism Management, Fashion & Design, Agricultural Sciences, Science except M. Sc. (Physics, Chemistry &

 

Mathematics) and Medicine & Health Sciences (M. Sc. and MPH) on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in UG course :

(a)       90% and above                                            : 75%
(b)       75% and above but less than 90%           : 50%
(c)        60% and above but less than 75%          : 25%
(d)       Alumni students secured >50% but <60% Marks for admission in PG courses                    : 20%

 

5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession, over and above the % mentioned above [(b) and (c)] will be awarded to the alumni of the University for admission to Postgraduate programs (Including Post Basic Nursing and B. Pharm.).

The scholarship will not be applicable for the Ph. D. scholars. However, if the Ph. D.  scholars joins the University as regular scholar (One in each department/as per the requirement of the concerned department) and assist the teaching staff in their academic and laboratory work will be paid Rs. 10000/- per month as stipend.

 

Relatives of the University’s Staff

The scholarship in the form of Tuition fee concession will be awarded to the relatives of the University’s employees (blood relations only i.e. Son, Daughter, Husband, Wife) for the students admitted during Academic Session 2020-21 as given below :

  1. Sc. (Nursing) (Post Basic) :           25% every year
  2. All other courses except Medical, Dental,
  3. Nursing, Pharmacy and Ayurveda                       :           35% every year

 

Sibling

For sibling cases (one out of two), 35% scholarship or as per the slab mentioned above (whichever is higher) in the form of Tuition Fee Concession will be awarded in all the courses (Undergraduate/Postgraduate) except Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Ayurveda. For continuation in subsequent years, he/she has to fulfill the conditions mentioned for other students.

 

Subsequent Years:

The 25% scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession in subsequent years shall be based on the students’ performance in the semesters/annual examinations as the case may be and the same will be paid in the name of the student (Except Medical, Dental and Ayurveda).

 

For continuation of scholarship in subsequent years, the student shall have to meet the following conditions:

  1. He/she should have passed in all the subjects in first attempt
  2. Should have scored 75% or above marks in
  3. Should have 80% or more attendance in all subjects of the course including practical (wherever applicable).
  4. Student is not involved in any act of indiscipline, ragging, eve teasing
  5. Should have cleared all the dues and paid the whole fee of the course for the particular semester/year.
  6. Should not be receiving any other scholarship from any other Govt./Govt. organization/Institute.
  7. Student must submit the Scholar Project in consultation with their respective Dean/Faculty member to claim the scholarship for subsequent

Note: The students will have to apply within one month of the declaration of their result.
