SCHOLARSHIP POLICY OF SGT UNIVERSITY FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSION 2023-24

The scholarship, in the form of Tuition Fee Concession, will be awarded to the meritorious students at the time of admission and subsequent years for students admitted in Academic Session 2023-24.

UG PROGRAMMES

The scholarship will be admissible to students of UG programmes [except for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, B. Ed. Spl. Edn., D. Ed. Spl. Edn., Integrated B. Ed. M. Ed. Spl. Edn. on the basis of marks obtained as under:

(a) PCB/M/CS with English as one of the subject OR

(b) Best of four subjects with English as one of the compulsory subject

For calculating percentage for scholarship, the Subsidiary/Elective subjects will not be considered.

Where there is a marksheet contains 1st and 2nd year, the average for subject of both the years will be considered.

(c)        70% and above but less than 80%            :25% of Tuition Fee

The scholarship for the student of lateral entry will also be admissible as per the above-mentioned slabs and to ascertain their eligibility, the aggregate marks of the programme will be considered.

In case of Girl student, the following categories will be considered for all the programmes except MBBS, BDS, BAMS, D. Ed. Spl. Edn., B. Ed. Spl. Edn. and Integrated B. Ed. M. Ed. Spl. Edn. programs.

(a)      Girl student (For Non-medical courses)                          :             5% of Tuition fee

(b)      Boys/Girls student whose parents are in defence*      :             5% of Tuition fee

Note : The Girls/Boys students will get maximum 5% additional scholarship in the form of tuition fee.

PG PROGRAMMES

For PG programmes, the scholarship will be given in the Faculties of Commerce & Management, Behavioural Sciences (except M. Phil (Clinical Psychology), Professional Diploma in Clinical Psychology), Nursing, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Sciences, Mass Communication & Media Technology, Education, Law, Fashion & Design, Agricultural Sciences, Science (except M. Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Environmental Science, Engineering & Technology (except M. Tech.), Medicine & Health Sciences (except MD and MS) and SGT College of Pharmacy on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in UG course :

5% extra scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession, over and above the % mentioned above [(b) and (c)] will be awarded to the alumni of the University for admission to Postgraduate programs in the first year only.

Relatives of the University’s Staff

The scholarship in the form of Tuition fee concession will be awarded to the relatives of the University’s employees (blood relations only i.e. Son, Daughter, Husband, Wife) for the students admitted during Academic Session 2023-24 is as given below:

  1. B. Sc. (Nursing) (Post Basic)                    :           25% of Tuition Fee/every year
  2. All other programmes except Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Ayurveda :    35% of Tuition Fee/every year

Sibling

For sibling cases (one out of two), 35% scholarship or as per the slab mentioned above (whichever is higher) in the form of Tuition Fee Concession will be awarded in all the programmes (Undergraduate/Postgraduate) except Medical, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy and Ayurveda. For continuation in subsequent years, he/she has to fulfill the conditions mentioned for other students.

Subsequent Years:

The 25% scholarship in the form of Tuition Fee Concession in subsequent years shall be based on the students’ performance in the semesters/annual examinations as the case may be and the same will be paid in the name of the student.
For continuation of scholarship in subsequent years, the student shall have to meet the following conditions:

(a) He/she should have passed in all the subjects in first attempt itself.


(b) Should have scored 75% or above marks in aggregate.


(c) Should have 80% or more attendance in all subjects of the course including practical (wherever applicable).


(d) Student is not involved in any act of indiscipline, ragging, eve teasing etc.


(e) Should have cleared all the dues and paid the whole fee of the course for the particular semester/year.


(f) Should not be receiving any other scholarship from any other Govt./Govt. organization/Institute.


(g) Student must submit the Scholar Project in consultation with their respective Dean/Faculty member to claim the scholarship for subsequent years.

 Note: 

➢ The students will have to apply to their respective Dean for continuation of the scholarship within one month of the declaration of their result or as per the notification issued by the University.
➢ The Competent Authority of the University is having rights to Change/Modify any terms & conditions/slabs of the Scholarship Policy or to withdraw the policy at any point of time without any prior notification.

(b)  Documents required

 In case of serving Defence personnel

(i) Dependent’s card issued to the servicemen/ A certificate issued by the Unit Head/C.O. of the servicemen

(ii) ID card of the servicemen

(iii) ID/Aadhaar card of the student

In case of retired Defence personnel

(i)        Discharge certificate of the servicemen

(ii)      ID card of the Ex-Servicemen

(iii)     ID/Aadhaar card of the student
