About SWC
SGT University believe that the student well-being is more important than the academic success, which encompasses cultural, social, emotional and personal development as well. In order to form a comfortable bridge between the management and the students of the university through the establishment of the Office headed by Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Sharma, as the Dean – Students’ Welfare (DSW). The Students’ Welfare Centre, offers a platform to the students of the university where they can discuss their problems and get the amicable solution for the same.
The SWC also keeps working closely with accredited bodies like the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and UGC for the programs like Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, FIT India Movement, and many social initiatives and awareness program like Female foeticide, Anti ragging seminars, Human Rights, and many more.
Objectives:
The primary objective is to create a conducive and compassionate environment for the overall development of students in curricular and co-curricular activities and to ensure a healthy feedback mechanism.
From the Desk of DSW:
SGT Uversity has always believed in maintaining a balance between academics and Co-curriculum activities. SGT University not only provides an environment to learn but is also an amalgamation of various cultural backgrounds, view points and ideology. The one aspect of this University which brings all these diverse elements together is the Dean Student Welfare (DSW).
The Dean Student Welfare as the name suggests is the organization of the students which makes sure to maintain a smooth working between the the university and its students.
Under the supervision of Dr.Vijay Sharma we have a council of students which work as a team to fit through all the odds and level up performance of the students in all ways. The council is named as Prabndhn.
Prabndhn is a council of students which focuses on making all the arrangements for events being organized in the universityor even out sidethe university. From planning to prepare the students, from execution of the event to publicizing the same all is in the hands of this student driven body. By this the students not only inculcate various life lessons but also know how to apply the same in their life.
Our goal is to establish a welcoming, accepting atmosphere where each student succeeds not just academically but also emotionally and socially.
Our mission is to create a welcoming, active campus community that places a high value on the overall wellbeing of our students. In order to help students overcome obstacles, build resilience, and realise their full potential, we strive to provide them a wide range of tools, services, and assistance. We hope to provide a loving atmosphere where every student feels respected, encouraged, and motivated via cooperation, advocacy, and creative activities. We work to develop conscientious leaders who have a good influence on their communities and help create a better world. That is also a reason that the DSW is also handled by the students of our university.
It is said that a student with the professional skills may succeed in one’s career but one who has experienced the lessons from holistic experiences can succeed in life. With this thought the Dean Student Welfare of SGT University keeps on working even harder to encourage and enhance its students to overcome the hesitations within themselves and grow not only to get a life but to have a better lifestyle as a better person

What SWC does @SGT!
Extra-Curricular Activities
SGT University is a mosaic of bustling activities, adventures, and cultural events! There are a variety of recreational clubs/ societies that engage and propagate these events to make the campus a happening and thriving place. These extra-curricular activities enhance learning capabilities and encourage holistic development while at the same time ensuring a fun and stress-relieving environment for the students. Club activities have been incorporated into the academic curriculum to encourage and motivate students to actively participate.
Students can participate in extracurricular and developmental activities by identifying those who are talented and interested in the areas of music, dance, literature, fashion, arts, social responsibility, theatre, photography, and health. This will help them develop holistically by nurturing their individual talent and providing them with a supportive environment to plan and execute various activities in the said areas. Various cultural fests are organized from time to time within the campus. The major fests worth mentioning are Radha Krishna Sang Phoolon ki Holi, Hariyali Teej, Janmashtami & Dahi Handi Utsav, Diwali Mela and Christmas are the big affairs where the students showcase their talent on stage. In addition to this, the DSW also sponsors the teams and individuals for participation in the various contests and events organized by other Universities in India.

National Cadet Corp (NCC)
The Students’ Welfare Centre also established NCC subunit at the university campus under 5 Haryana Battalion which is monitored and functions under the guidance of Mr Vipin Yadav and C.T.O., for social service programs. The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure, and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained, and motivated youth with leadership qualities from all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. PRABANDHAN – The Student Council of SGT University
The Students’ Council of SGT University solely run by the students, works to execute the events, festivals, seminars, workshops, concerts, conventions, and annual fests through meticulous planning. The council involves studying the concepts and themes of the event, identifying its target audience, and coordinating the technical aspects followed by mock drills before actually launching the event. The process of planning and coordinating the event also includes budgeting, arrangement, site selection, acquiring necessary permits, coordinating transportation and parking, arranging for speakers or entertainers, arranging decor, event security, catering, coordinating with third-party vendors, and emergency plans. Each event is different in its nature so the process of planning & amp; execution of each event differs from one to another. Events build social and business relationships and give their members the opportunity to meet and interact with different members.

Student Counselling Cell
Students are not alone in encountering difficulties and University has a range of people who can help to support them. Most of the time, one can get support from the friends or family, but sometimes friends or family members are not the right person to help, or the student might not want to overburden them or to share the problem with them. These are two reasons why the University has people with designated welfare role. The Office of Students’ Welfare has established a dedicated cell to accommodate students’ mental well-being and offers student counselling to address their problems with the assurance to keep it confidential.
