Dr. Shyam Sunder Sharma

Dr. Shyam Sunder Sharma, currently working as Professor of Entomology in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University. Prior to this he has worked as Additional Dean SGT University and served as the Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences, K.R. Manglam University, Gurugram. Dr. S.S. Sharma superannuated from CCC Haryana Agricultural University Hisar as Principal Scientist Entomology. He has 42 years of experience in Teaching, Research and Extension. He has published 220 research papers and popular articles, Practical Manuals and compendia. Dr Sharma has published 35 recommendations in Package of Practices CCS HAU Hisar on Pest Management. He has delivered more than 50 radio talks from AIR Delhi and Rohtak and five TV talks from Doordarshan Delhi and Hisar. He organised and imparted several trainings to scientists and faculty members of various agricultural universities of India. He remained involved in the specialized training to state farmers at ATMA and PNB. He actively participated in all University activities like Rabi and Kharif workshops, Kisan Mela and farm Darshans. Dr Sharma has developed three documentary films to help the state extension specialists and students. Dr S.S. Sharma has been the editor of one agriculture journal and evaluator of research papers for publication. Dr. Sharma had been external examiners and paper setter of UPSC, four agricultural universities of India.

Dr, S.S. Sharma has received International Training on IPM from ISRAEL. He has received training on Computer application, Internet, Power Point, MS Word and Excel. He has guided four M.Sc. and Ph.D. Entomology students. He taught courses of Entomology to UG and PG students at CCS HAU Hisar, SGT University and K.R. Mangalam university, Gurgaon.

He has rich administrative experience of HOD at CCS HAU Hisar, Add. Dean at SGTU and Dean, School of Agricultural Sciences, K.R. Mangalam University Gurgaon Dr.S.S. Sharma was the recipient of fellowships of ICAR and Union Carbide throughout his UG and PG studies.

Moreover he has been a swimmer also at state and intervarsity level.
