Dr. Sugandha Singh

Dr. Sugandha Singh is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at SGT University, Gurugram. Additionally ISAC has designated her as a Cybercrime Intervention Officer. Despite being a computer science engineer she has a keen interest in management studies also. She has 25 years of teaching experience, which includes 15 years of administration as well. IIoT, IoT, Industry 4.0 & 5.0, Wireless Sensor Networks, MANETs, Cognitive Networks, Business Analysis, and Engineering Education are some of her research interests. She is certified as Engineering Educator by IUCEE.

Dr Sugandha completed Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science and Engineering from Kurukshetra University in 1999 and 2001 respectively. She pursued Doctor of Philosophy in reliability and security in mobile adhoc networks from GGS IP University, Delhi in 2015. She successfully completed PGDM in HR and PR from Madras University during her stay in Defense Services Staff College, Wellington.

Dr Sugandha belongs to a family of freedom fighters. Her familys legacy in education has played a significant role in shaping her career and inspiring her to pursue teaching as a profession. According to Dr. Sugandha, leadership is an interpersonal process that calls for dedication, direction, and alignment in addition to an individual’s competencies. By keeping the goal in mind, one can motivate others to commit and help connect them to a bigger picture. She has always looked beyond the status quo to what is possible and acted despite personal fears and insecurities. It enabled her to move beyond the masculinized ideals of the leadership identity. It brings energy and freedom to create, making space for passion and vision.

In addition to teaching she started her journey of administration in 2009, beginning with Head of department, Dean, Dy Director, and Director at various institutions. Dr. Sugandha has devoted her life to establishing a supportive and welcoming learning environment for her students and her organization. Her contribution to attaining accreditations and rankings by organizations has been crucial for the professional advancement of students.

A senior member of the IEEE, WIE, Engg Education, SMC, TCCC, Young Professionals, Computer Science Teacher Association (CSTA), Journal and Event Management System (JEMS), and Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Head Association (ECEDHA), she adheres to the principles of Learn, Group, and Relearn, thus she is always up to date on knowledge and leadership policies. She authored 05 books on technology and leadership as part of her mission to share her knowledge. Her 57 research papers have been published in prestigious national and international journals and conferences, including SCI/Scopus/Wos. There are 05 patents granted under her name. She evaluates research papers for the Journal of Institute of Engineers (India), Conferences on Engineering Education, UGC Journals, IEEE- referred conferences, and Springers International Journal of Wireless and Information Networks.

She was recognized as the Best Innovative Teacher by the KRA-MSME Registered Organization for using a variety of teaching methodologies to make her classroom instruction engaging and dynamic (Learnt @ HITAM, Hyderabad). She was named the Best Innovator at the NITI Ayog Savitribai Phule Excellence Awards for her mentorship and project ideas that helped her student teams win numerous contests, including the Imagine Cup, Netriders, SIH, Kalams competition, and many more. The Air Force Family Welfare Association (AFFWA) has also named her the Best Sangini Contributor in recognition of her efforts to help women in Air Force families achieve financial independence. She is also nominee for Overall women leadership award by Ek Nari 100 pe Bhari at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, for her overall contribution in education as an outstanding leader.
