The Centre of Excellence for Andragogical and Pedagogical Sciences successfully launched the first session of the Teach Meet series, creating a collaborative platform for faculty members to share their innovative teaching experiences. The session aimed to bring together educators to exchange practical strategies for making classrooms more engaging and student-centered. With five dynamic speakers, Teach Meet-I showcased diverse methodologies that can transform traditional teaching into interactive and experiential learning.
Dr. Sushma Chaturvedi, Professor at SGTCOP, opened the session by discussing creative approaches to classroom instruction. She highlighted techniques to make learning more interactive, ensuring students remain actively involved in the process. Following her, Dr. Runjhun shared effective strategies for handling large batches of students. She emphasized the importance of structuring lessons in a way that maintains engagement and fosters participation, even in crowded classrooms.
Dr. Shweta Mumbaraddi Huddar, Associate Professor at FIMS, provided an insightful discussion on how breaking down conventional topics into engaging segments can enhance student involvement. Using the metaphor of a healing journey of wounds, she illustrated how teaching can be structured to captivate students’ interest while making learning more meaningful.
Mr. Rohit Saroha, Assistant Professor at FHTM, introduced the concept of experiential learning using available resources. He demonstrated how dividing students into smaller groups for hands-on activities can significantly improve comprehension and retention. His approach emphasized the importance of real-world application in teaching. Dr. Yogesh Mehta, Professor at FCAM, concluded the session by emphasizing the role of small group activities in fostering classroom engagement. He shared strategies that encourage collaboration among students, ensuring that learning becomes a shared, participatory experience.
