Teach Meet V: Beyond the Classroom: Near-Peer and Experiential Teaching

The Centre of Excellence for Andragogical and Pedagogical Sciences (CEAPS) hosted Teach Meet V on 10th April 2025, centred around the theme "Beyond the Classroom: Near-Peer and Experiential Teaching". Designed as an online knowledge-sharing platform, the session aimed to inspire faculty through real examples of student-centred and interdisciplinary pedagogies.

Dr. Vinika Chaudhary, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Physiotherapy, presented an insightful case on implementing near-peer teaching. She was joined by two postgraduate students who had facilitated sessions for undergraduate learners. Together, they reflected on how this approach enhanced conceptual clarity, communication skills, and learner confidence—both for the peer teachers and their juniors.

Dr. Vineeta Saini, Associate Professor and Head of Forensic Sciences, discussed a dynamic inter-programme experiential learning activity. Along with her colleagues Dr. Naveen, Ms. Pratibha, and Ms. Anurima, she detailed a two-day collaborative event that integrated topics from multiple subjects, promoting applied learning and critical thinking among students. The session encouraged faculty to adopt innovative, participatory, and cross-disciplinary teaching strategies that go beyond conventional classroom boundaries.
