SGT University Latest News: The three days of the 9th Annual Convocation Ceremony at SGT University were days filled with emotion, joy, and a sense of accomplishment for everyone involved. The graduates, their families and friends, the faculty, and the staff all gathered to celebrate the end of an academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter in the graduates’ lives.

As the graduates walked down the aisle, dressed in their caps and gowns, the excitement in the air was palpable. Smiling faces, tears of joy, and proud parents all filled the convocation hall.

The 3-day ceremony began by invoking the blessing of Goddess Saraswati by lighting the lamp. A welcome address was given by the University’s Vice Chancellor Prof. O. P. Kalra, who congratulated the graduates on their achievements and reminded them of the hard work and dedication that brought them to this moment. “Our graduates entered the university as students, but are leaving as professionals.”

He also gave a brief report of all the achievements of the University for the last academic year that included: 813+ research papers published in reputed journals, 120+ patients filed, the establishment of one of its kind Centre of Excellence for Andragogical and Pedagogical Sciences (CEAPS) in India, and many others.

The official convocation began with the opening remarks by the Chancellor of SGT University, the Padmashree, Hon. Shri Ram Bahadur Rai.

The degree conferment ceremony was the highlight of the event. One by one – the Ph.D., undergraduate and post-graduate students from all the 18 faculties and 172 courses at SGTU, including medical, engineering, humanities, and creative arts – walked across the stage, shook hands with the senior university faculty members and chief guests, to receive their degrees.

As they walked back to their seats, the graduates couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. They had worked hard to get here, and now they were officially graduates of SGT University.

The convocation ceremony was also graced by various guests of honor.

They included: Sh. Bhupender Yadav Ji, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Labour and Environment, Government of India; Smt. Sangeeta Jaitley Ji, Managing Director, Shri Arun Jaitley Foundation; Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal, Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University; Rajeev Gautam, President at HORIBA India; Prof. Anita Saxena, Vice Chancellor, Pt. B D Sharma University of Health Sciences and Research; and Dr. Rajesh Jain, Chairman and Managing Director, Panacea Biotech Limited.

All of them are prominent figures in their respective fields. Their words were both inspiring and thought-provoking, reminding the graduates that their education was not just about obtaining a degree, but about the journey of self-discovery and growth and making practical use of the education they have received to help society and our country. The graduates listened attentively, taking in every word.

As the ceremony came to a close, the graduates sang the national anthem. As the final notes faded away, the graduates recessed from the hall, ready to start the next chapter of their lives.

After the ceremony, the graduates, their families, and friends gathered for a reception, where they reminisced about their time at SGT University and shared their plans for the future. The mood was festive, and the graduates couldn’t help but feel a sense of sadness that their time at the university was coming to an end. But they were excited about what the future had in store for them.

The three days of the convocation ceremony at SGT University were not just an event, but an experience. It was a celebration of the graduates’ hard work and dedication, a tribute to the university’s commitment to providing high-quality education, and a reminder that the journey is just beginning.

As the graduates left the university, they carried with them not only their degrees but also the memories of the friends they made, their moments of triumph, and the lessons they learned.
