The Faculty of Dental Sciences started as SGT Dental College Hospital & Research Institute in 2002. The Faculty aims to promote research on oral health and impart ethical and scientific clinical training and technology.
Faculty members of dental science have received prestigious fellowships from the Board of Orthodontics, International College of Dentists (FICD, USA), FDSRCPS from the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians, and the Indian Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. FDS also organises various community outreach campaigns for the rural people in nearby villages with its Mobile Dental Van. The students were ground-level experience by organising regular oral health screening and treatment camps with free medicines. Along with academics, students also actively participate in various extra-curricular activities.
State-of-the-art Infrastructure in the Faculty of Dental Sciences
The Faculty of Dental Science has a modern infrastructure. It has a well-stocked library and peaceful reading area, and classrooms are fully ventilated and centrally air-conditioned with Wi-Fi enabled 60 inches interactive panels.
The Faculty of Dental Sciences has various advanced clinical skill-based equipment, including CBCT unit, Microscope Enhanced Dentistry units, mobile Dental Van, Dental Xpertz Clinic setup, surgical & allied support, Cleft Centre – Muskaan, separate Implant Ology Unit, major and minor operation theatres, special child clinics, and full component sufficient number of dental chair units in each department making it a perfect environment for good clinical exposure and value-based learning.
Each department has separate laboratories specifically dedicated and designed as per in demands of the modern era. The Library is fully automated and provides user services through computers. A separate reading area is also provided for the students to study in a peaceful environment.
