The Prodigy Club, Faculty of Science, SGT University, organised the “International Women's Day 2024”, honouring the remarkable contributions of women across all spheres of life. The event aimed to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness against gender bias, and advocate for gender equality. The event took place on March 7th, 2024, at the Shooting Hall, A Block, SGT University, Gurugram. The theme for this year's celebration was "Investing in women: Accelerate progress". We were honoured to have esteemed guest speakers Ms. Deepika Kadian, CEO of Space Tele link Ltd, Gurugram and Dr. Radhika, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, who graced the occasion, enriching it with their insights and experiences. Prof. (Dr.) Lakhwinder Singh, Dean, Faculty of Science, SGT University, extended a cordial welcome to everyone present. The Hon'ble Chief Guests graced the occasion by cutting the ceremonial cake, symbolizing the celebration of International Women's Day. Ms Deepika Kadian delivered an inspiring address highlighting the importance of women's leadership and entrepreneurship in driving innovation and progress. Thereafter, Dr. Radhika shared valuable insights on women's health and empowerment. After the insightful talks, several games were organized. Girl Students and female faculty members enthusiastically participated in fun-filled games. Female Faculty Members of the Faculty of Science were recognized and presented with gifts for their contributions to academia and society. Ms. Shalini, an M.Sc. Forensic Science student, entertained the audience with her mimicry skills, adding a touch of laughter to the event. Dr. Mukesh Kumar, associate professor, Faculty of Science extended heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, organizers, and supporters for making the event a grand success. Around 150 UG/PG students attended the event. The event was a success and served as a platform to recognize and celebrate the achievements of women while reaffirming our commitment to gender equality and inclusivity.
