SGT University has a proud history of research, innovation, design, development, and dissemination of technologies, processes, and products. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) are crucial for higher education institutions since they safeguard the Intellectual Property (IP) generated via research and development by stakeholders. The domain of intellectual property rights (IPR) has expanded beyond patents to encompass all categories of intellectual property, including copyright, geographical indications (GI), trademarks, designs, and more to safeguard all manifestations of human ingenuity across various domains.
Function of
IPR Cell
- To create awareness and guide the faculty, staff and students of SGT University on the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- To enable IP Policy adoption and implementation at the university.
- To manage IPR of SGT University.
- To disseminate knowledge on patents, patent regime in India and abroad and registration aspects.
- To work on enabling and supporting technology/IP transfer and commercialization of granted IPRs.
- To motivate Innovators to come up with new ideas and help them to protect the innovation.
- To conduct Workshops, Seminars and Training courses on IPR.
