Pro Vice-Chancellor

Commodore (Dr.) Jawahar M Jangir is a distinguished veteran of the Indian Navy with over 30 years of service, complemented by leadership roles in academia and the public sector. His career spans diverse domains, including naval engineering, defence diplomacy, academics, infrastructure planning & development, Human Resource Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

A highly accomplished professional, Commodore Jangir has also done the prestigious assignment of Defence Adviser to the High Commission of India in Nigeria for about 4 years.

Recognized for his strategic vision and leadership, he has successfully led major infrastructure projects, Naval Ships and Submarine refits, training programs, and quality assurance initiatives for the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and the Shipyards.

He has also been commended by the Chief of the Naval Staff for professional competence and devotion to duty.

His academic qualifications include B Tech (Electrical Engineering), MSc(Engineering), MSc (Defence & Strategic Studies), MDBA (Marketing) & PhD (Business Administration).

Apart from his naval and technical expertise, Commodore Jangir has been a strong advocate for CSR initiatives, earning recognition as one of the Top 25 leaders in the CSR field in India and receiving the CSR Excellence Award for Public Sector Enterprises by the Indian Chamber of Commerce. His unwavering commitment to national service, innovation, and leadership continues to inspire professionals across military, academia, and industrial sectors.

His last assignment was as Pro Vice Chancellor at Manipal University, Jaipur.
