Dr Muhmmed Sihabudheen K is a scholar of International Politics researches at the intersection of security, religion and politics in South Asia. He holds a PhD and MPhil in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and an MA in Political Science from the University of Hyderabad. He spent the 2018–19 academic year as a Fulbright Fellow and visiting scholar at Columbia University, New York City. In his doctoral dissertation, he examined the connections between national identity formation and security discourses by researching the evolution of Muslim political identity in post-colonial India. His MPhil dissertation explored discourse analysis theories and methods in International Relations. He is a polyglot proficient in Arabic, English, Hindi, Urdu, and Malayalam. As a researcher, he asks how South Asian religious communities interact in the context of the Modern Nation-Sate system and their right to security.
