Dr. Vivek Srivastava

Dr. Vivek Srivastava is a distinguished academic leader, researcher, and industry–academia bridge builder serving as the Dean of Engineering & Technology at SGT University, Gurugram. With over two decades of blended experience across industry, higher education, research, and innovation management, he brings a strong vision of transforming engineering education into an ecosystem that is industry-relevant, research-driven, and socially impactful. He is also the Forvia-Hella Chair Professor at SGT University and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers (India) [FIE], reflecting his professional standing and contributions to engineering education and practice. Dr. Srivastava has been instrumental in securing and executing major CSR grants from Forvia-Hella and Mankind Pharma, leading to the establishment of advanced laboratories and technology-enabled learning environments that directly benefit students, faculty, and industry partners. Under his leadership, SGT University has developed large-scale industry collaborations and Centres of Excellence in emerging domains such as Electric Vehicles, Hydrogen Technologies, Additive Manufacturing, Artificial Intelligence–driven Design, and Advanced Instrumentation. These initiatives enable learners to engage with real-world engineering challenges and future-oriented technologies, strengthening employability and innovation capabilities. Dr. Srivastava’s research interests span additive manufacturing, sustainable and composite materials, AI/ML applications in mechanical engineering, hydrogen energy systems, and advanced product design. He has authored and co-authored numerous research publications in reputed journals, holds multiple patents and design registrations, and is actively involved in book projects with international publishers. His work consistently aligns with sustainability, circular economy principles, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Beyond research, he plays a pivotal role in academic policy, curriculum innovation, accreditation frameworks, and strategic institutional planning. He has been closely associated with initiatives related to NAAC, NBA, NIRF, and NEP-2020 alignment, contributing to quality assurance systems that keep engineering education globally competitive and outcome-oriented. A strong advocate of innovation and entrepreneurship, Dr. Srivastava actively mentors start-ups, promotes incubation ecosystems, and fosters multidisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty, and industry leaders. He is also known for conceptualizing and leading large-scale academic and innovation summits that bring together global experts, policymakers, and technology pioneers.
