Prof. Susanta Kundu, from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at SGT University, Gurugram, is into teaching and guiding UG-PG students in Data Science, Data Mining, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cyber Forensic, and Web Development (focusing on the backend).
He is also in institutional roles as a member of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Chairman of the SGT University Website Editorial Board, Controller of Records (CORE). and Chairing the institutional Feedback Committee for seamless operations.
Prof. Susanta graduated in Physics (Honors) from Presidency College (now Presidency University) – Kolkata, a B.Tech from the University of Calcutta, and an M.Tech from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. He received the UGC-CAS (Center of Advanced Studies) Scholarship, the National Merit Scholarship, and multiple Best Performer Awards from Software Industries.
Prof. Susanta has a combined 35+ years of professional exposure with 12 years of research in Satellite Communications @ISRO, 21 years in the corporate software industries, and remaining in academics. Before joining SGT University, he was a core faculty member of the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) – a Think Tank of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs – Government of India. At IICA, he headed the Center for Independent Directors, related to Corporate Governance and Company Acts.
Prof. Susanta served ISRO as a Scientist in the Satellite Communication areas for 12 years, focusing on High-Speed TDMA Systems, Forward Error Correcting Codes to improve Satellite Link Margin, and Industry Automation using DSP (Digital Signal Processor). He also worked on the design and development of (1) Advanced Digital Modulation(ADM) Techniques using U-QPSK, COFDM, (2) Audio Codecs (MPEG), (3) Satellite-based Digital Audio Broadcasting (DAB) Systems, and (4) Compact-Portable-Programmable Digital Satellite Receiver, connected to a small patch-array antenna with a capability to install anywhere, anytime for receiving digital streaming data.
In his corporate exposure in the software industries, he worked with Tier-1 organizations like Hughes, Flextronics, Aricent, and Altran in various capacities as an Engineering Leader/ AVP-Engineering / Director-Engineering, etc., for Software Product Development and Services in the Telecom and Semiconductor domains through (1) Technological Development Works, (2) Leadership and Management, (3) Customer Relationship Management, (4) Business Development, (5) Team Building, (6) Skill Development in related domains.
