On August 21, the Faculty of Design at SGT University hosted an engaging workshop on stencil printing as part of its induction program for fashion design students. Led by Mr. Prasoon Poddar, a renowned textile design expert, the workshop explored both the historical significance and modern applications of stencil printing.

The session began with an in-depth introduction to the technique, covering its origins, materials, and processes. Students were then guided through creating their own stencils using various materials, gaining hands-on experience in stencil production and creative exploration.

With Mr. Poddar’s expert guidance, participants learned fabric preparation and ink selection, setting the stage for their creative expression. As students translated their design ideas onto paper and fabric, vibrant colours and patterns emerged, showcasing their unique artistic visions. The supportive, experimental atmosphere encouraged collaboration and idea exchange, further enhancing the learning experience.

The workshop not only honed students' technical skills but also boosted their confidence in their creative abilities. Inspired by the tangible results of their work, many students left the workshop excited to pursue design further.
