On September 28, 2024, Architect Swati Sharma—an architect, urban planner, and academician—led an insightful workshop on the Use of Elements and Principles of Design for students of fashion and interior design at the Faculty of Design.

The workshop began with an in-depth exploration of fundamental design elements, such as line, shape, color, texture, space, and form. Sharma then guided participants through practical exercises, demonstrating how to apply key design principles like balance, harmony, contrast, rhythm, proportion, and unity.

During the hands-on activity, participants used these elements and principles to create a harmonious composition, reinforcing their understanding through direct application.

Throughout the session, Sharma emphasised the importance of these design concepts in both fashion and interior design. Participants left the workshop with valuable insights on integrating theory with practice, equipping them to innovate and excel in their future design careers.
