Course Overview

The M. Sc. Cardiac Care Technology programme is a 2-year postgraduate program under which, we train students to work as cardiac technologist, Cath lab Technologist, Cardiac Sonographer in medical cardiology Department. Students get detailed knowledge about anatomy, physiology and pathology of heart diseases. We also provide them knowledge of ECG recording and monitoring, Ambulatory BP Monitoring, echocardiography, basic non-invasive diagnostic and therapeutic interventional procedures in heart disease. Students work with cardiologist and as a team member they take medical histories, perform clinical examination, write order for laboratory tests and assist the doctors in clinical procedures. Further, to develop research attitude they have to complete a dissertation on one topic given by mentor. Students are involved and trained in administrative and record keeping work. They get an opportunity to work in Invasive and Non-Invasive Cardiology Department. They are also eligible to hold academic positions in School of allied health science and train undergraduate students.
