The School of Behavioural Sciences (FBSS) at SGT University celebrated its 10th anniversary from September 16-19, 2024, with a series of events highlighting its achievements, growth, and commitment to academic excellence. The milestone celebration began with an inaugural program and alumni meet on September 16, featuring traditional lamp lighting and Saraswati Vandana, where the Dean, Prof. Amra Ahsan, shared FBSS’s journey and vision. Prof. Waheeda Khan, a guiding force for FBSS, honored contributors like Prof. S.P.K. Jena and Dr. Milada and introduced a video on FBSS’s progress, culminating with a thank-you note from Dr. Vikas Sharma.

On September 17, the International Conference on Holistic Health began with esteemed collaborations from global institutions, with speeches by Prof. Waheeda Khan, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Madan Mohan Chaturvedi, and CEO Mr. Anil Kumar. Keynote speakers like Prof. Matt Perelstein and Prof. Nandita Babu addressed interconnected realms of well-being, while plenary sessions covered diverse topics from psychosocial health correlates to culturally integrated mental health interventions. On September 18, distinguished speakers such as Dr. Huseyin Cakal presented on mental health in resource-poor settings, while Prof. Manas Kumar Mandal discussed the role of campuses in fostering student happiness.

The day also featured insights from Prof. Romate John on workplace communication and Dr. Claudia Pineda-Marin on resilience in conflict zones. The celebration concluded on September 19 with post-conference workshops, including sessions by Dr. Aqeel Khan on publishing in high-impact journals, Ms. Mehreen Fatima on ethical child research methodologies, and Dr. Sramana Mazumdar on critical thinking in research, along with vibrant cultural performances celebrating India’s heritage.

The four-day event celebrated a decade of FBSS’s impactful contributions and strengthened its commitment to holistic education and collaborative growth within the psychology and social sciences fields.
