The ‘Rekhi Centre of Excellence for the Science of Happiness,’ in collaboration with the Faculty of Behavioral and Social Sciences, organized its first event on 23rd April 2024 - A scintillating inaugural lecture delivered by Prof. Dr. Manas Kumar Mandal, Former Director-General of Life Science, DRDO. Prof. Mandal has been a Fulbright-Nehru Professor at prestigious universities like Pennsylvania, Harvard, Waterloo, and Delaware. He is a Fellow of NSERC, DAAD, and NAOP, with 14 books, over 100 research papers, and 7000+ international citations to his credit.

His professional stature has been embellished with prestigious awards and accolades like the ‘Technology Leadership Award,' ‘Scientist of the Year,’ and ‘Agni Award for Excellence.’ Prof. Mandal's remarkable journey and contributions provided over 250 guests, comprising of students, respected deans, and faculty, with invaluable insight.

The topic for the lecture, "Decoding Happiness: Understanding the Science Behind," proved to be just as insightful as it was captivating for the attendees. The event was brought to fruition under the covetous guidance of Prof. Dr. Waheeda Khan, Advisor, SGT University. The Distinguished Speaker, who has made numerous noteworthy contributions to the field of Neuroscience and Cognitive Sciences, generously answered the series of questions asked by the attendees, making it a highly spirited and insightful discourse.
