CME : Neonatal Resuscitation Program

Introduction: NRP stands for "Neonatal Resuscitation Program." It's an educational program aimed at healthcare professionals involved in the delivery and care of newborns. The program teaches essential resuscitation skills and guidelines for managing newborns in distress or requiring resuscitation at birth. It covers various scenarios such as meconium aspiration, birth depression, and more, emphasizing prompt and effective interventions to improve outcomes for newborns.

Objective of the webinar/Event: The primary objective of an NRP event is to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively resuscitate and stabilize newborns who require assistance at birth. This includes understanding the steps of neonatal resuscitation, recognizing the signs of newborn distress, and implementing appropriate interventions in a timely manner to improve outcomes and reduce morbidity and mortality rates among newborns.

Brief content of lecture: The Department of Pediatrics, FMHS SGT University conducted an Advanced NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) workshop on 31.3.2024 (Sunday) in SGT Medical College Hospital & Research Institute under the aegis of IAP (Indian Academy of Pediatrics). This was a full day hands-on, skill-based workshop for teaching neonatal resuscitation to all those who are involved in neonatal care. This workshop was held in Gurugram for the first time. Skills with the latest concepts were imparted to 42 participants (doctors and nurses) from SGT University and different corporate hospitals of Delhi NCR and other states.
