National Science Day 2024

Prodigy Club, School of Science, in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council, SGT University celebrated the "National Science Day-2024" to pay tribute to all the Indian Scientists for tirelessly working for humankind and to spread a message about the importance of science used in the daily life of the people via displaying all the activities, efforts and achievements in the field of science for human welfare. National Science Day- 2024 was celebrated following the theme entitled “Indigenous Technology for Viksit Bharat”. We feel so privileged that we celebrated this National Science Day in the gracious presence of Senior Principal Scientist and Hon. Prof. (Dr.) D. D. Shivagan (Head, Temperature and Humidity Metrology, CSIR-National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi), Prof. (Dr.) Lakhwinder Singh, Dean, School of Science, SGT University, addressed the audience with his kind words and welcomed the esteemed and prestigious guest speaker. He filled the students with enthusiasm. Dr. D. D. Shivagan, delivered the talk on “Quantum Metrology: Towards Indigenous Development of Quantum Thermometers”. He talked about standards in the measurement system and the development of quantum thermometers and their advantages. There were also three science-related games played among students (science around us-video making, science hackathon, and tech dumb charades) and the winners were also awarded. More than 140 UG/PG Students, Research Scholars, and Faculty members attended the National Science Day-2024 Celebrations. Everyone had a gala time, and the event was well successful.
