Overview

The B.A. (Hons. with Research) in History is a flexible and interdisciplinary undergraduate program aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The program builds a strong foundation in historical thinking, research methodology, and critical analysis, enabling students to understand the past as a dynamic process shaping the present and future.


Students may graduate with a 3-year Bachelor’s Degree or continue to complete the 4-year Honours with Research Degree, depending on their academic and career goals.


You will gain hands-on experience in archival research, fieldwork, documentary making, and heritage studies, while also developing valuable analytical, research, and communication skills.

  • Students may choose Interdisciplinary Electives (DSE) Sociology, Political Science, International Relations, Economics or English Literature.
    Graduates pursue successful careers in Civil Services, Research, Public Policy, Media, Museums, Archives, Heritage & Tourism, Law, and Academia.


    Specialisation: UG Students can pursue their research in Social History, Spatial History, Political History, World History, Gender History, History of Cinema/History of Visual and Listening Cultures, Intellectual History, History of Religions and Rituals, History of Violence and History of Emotions and so on during the fourth year of the program.
