Mr. Satyam Sinha
Assistant Professor
Satyam Sinha is a Ph.D. Scholar and Senior Research Fellow at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow. His doctoral research, titled “Child Sexual Abuse Law in India: A Critical Study,” undertakes a comprehensive doctrinal and socio-legal examination of the statutory, constitutional, and institutional frameworks governing child protection in India. His work critically engages with the evolution, implementation, and jurisprudential challenges of child sexual abuse laws, with particular focus on rights-based adjudication, procedural safeguards, and the intersection of criminal justice administration with child rights discourse. He completed his LL.M. in Constitutional and Criminal Law from National Law University, Delhi, where he developed a nuanced engagement with constitutional theory, criminal jurisprudence, civil liberties, and state accountability. Prior to this, he earned his LL.B. (Hons.) from the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, building strong foundations in substantive and procedural law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi, which enriched his academic orientation with interdisciplinary and socio-legal perspectives. He qualified the UGC-NET with Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in 2022, subsequently upgraded to Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) in 2024, reflecting sustained academic merit and research excellence. His areas of scholarly interest include Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Personal Laws, and the Law of Torts. His research engages with themes of constitutional morality, criminal liability structures, victim jurisprudence, gender and child justice, and the dynamic interface between individual rights and state power. Through his scholarship, he seeks to contribute to doctrinal refinement, progressive legal reform, and a more rights-sensitive criminal justice system in India.
