SGT University inaugurates the Central Scientific Instrumentation Facility (CSIF)

SGT University inaugurated the Central Scientific Instrumentation Facility (CSIF) on November 7, 2025, at the S. Radhakrishnan Block, marking a significant step toward advancing multidisciplinary research excellence. The event was graced by Dr. Raj Nehru, Founder Vice-Chancellor, SVSU, and OSD to the Chief Minister, Haryana, as the Chief Guest, whose presence added great significance to the occasion. The ceremony began with the traditional lamp lighting, followed by an address from Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma, Vice Chancellor, emphasised the University’s commitment to strengthening a research-driven ecosystem supported by world-class infrastructure.


Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Kapoor, Director (R&D Cell), presented an overview of the facility, highlighting how CSIF will serve as a shared resource for faculty, research scholars, and students across all schools. Dr. Sneh Lata, Assistant Director, CSIF, presented the detailed operational and research framework of the facility, explaining the workflows, access procedures, and upcoming training modules designed to strengthen industry–academia collaboration. She emphasized that CSIF integrates multiple specialized laboratories under one umbrella, offering a unified research platform for biotechnology, molecular biology, chemistry, bioinformatics, agriculture, and environmental sciences.


During his Master Class, Dr. Raj Nehru encouraged participants to leverage central facilities for greater academic and societal impact. His inspiring insights included references to the remarkable scientific advancements of ancient Bharat and motivated SGTians to carry forward the torch of cutting-edge research and innovation for a self-reliant nation.


The event also featured the launch of the official CSIF brochure and website, providing comprehensive information on instruments, SOPs, training opportunities, and user support. Guests toured the CSIF laboratories, witnessing live demonstrations of major instruments, followed by visits to the Medical Cobotics Centre (MCC) and the National Reference Simulation Centre (NRSC), reflecting SGT University’s integrated approach to research, technology, and innovation.
