On Friday, 2nd December 2022, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education of Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University organised a Community Awareness Programme on “Special Education Day.” The Programme was coordinated by Ms Poonam Talwar, Asst. Professor, Faculty of Education, SGT University. And co-coordinated by Ms Divya Sharma Asst. Professor, Faculty of Education, SGT University. Prof. (Dr) Madhavi Sharma, Dean, Faculty of Education and Department of Special Education, SGT University gave the framework & structure for the event. She explained the Importance of Special Education.

Organized by the Department of Special Education. Students of the department of special education performed a road show (Nukkad Natak) in front of SGT hospital Gate to make aware the general public about the various issues related to disability and their mainstreaming
To mark the beginning of this event, Prof. (Dr). Madhvi Sharma Dean of Education and special education of SGTU. Give valuable words about the importance of special education. Then in each class D.Ed /B.Ed (HI/ID) special education organize different activities in their classroom like: “Pick n teel” Debate, Drawing competitions and Quiz activities to celebrate National Special Education day through Inhouse competitions. Around 21 students participate in Nukkad Natak for the Community Awareness Programme.
 

To aware, the general community about the need for special education through Rally, Nukkad Natak and delivery of Phamplet conducted in the village by the department of special education.

Overall, the event was a great success as the organizers were able to aware all sections of the department.
