Student Exchange Programs
A Student Exchange Program is a collaborative academic initiative between universities in different countries that allows students to study abroad for a specific period—typically a semester or academic year. The goal is to promote cultural understanding, academic enrichment, and global exposure.Under this program, students remain enrolled at their home university while attending classes and participating in academic or research activities at a partner institution abroad. These exchanges involve credit transfers, ensuring that students do not lose academic progress during their time overseas.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences (FDSC) in collaboration with the Office of International Relations (OIR) SGTU had the privilege to invite students of the dental department from Manipal College University, Malaysia, from 23rd - 27th Sept 2025 for a week-long Student Exchange Program. Students from the Manipal University, Malaysia, visited SGT University for an Inbound Student Exchange Program organised by the Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, in collaboration with OIR. The students were keen to understand diagnostics and treatment plans through the latest technologies. The students were thoroughly exposed to diagnosis and treatment plans, especially real-time oncology, cleft, and ankylosis surgeries. They also gained hands-on exposure to procedures like punch biopsies and laser bio stimulation follow-ups.

The Faculty of Indian Medical System (Ayurveda), in collaboration with the The Office of International Relations, had the opportunity to organise an inbound student mobility program from 1st - 5th December, 2024. Under the program, the faculty welcomed two PhD scholars from the University of Findlay, who received practical training and exposure to Ayurvedic Medicines and their benefits. The course ended with the signing an MoU with Avenida Innovations for International Academic Opportunities.

SGT University hosted 16 students from Utah Tech University, USA, for a two-week academic and cultural immersion program (5th–16th May 2025). The delegation explored traditional healthcare through Ayurveda, Naturopathy, and Yoga, while also gaining modern medical exposure at hospitals like Medanta and Cloud Nine. Students have even visited the SGT Ayurveda Hospital and the Naturopathy Center to gain knowledge of traditional Indian Medicine. Cultural visits to the Taj Mahal, Akshardham Temple, and activities by the Dean Student Welfare Office enriched their experience. The program concluded with a Valedictory Ceremony, highlighting mutual learning and stronger academic ties.

The Faculty of Dental Sciences (FDSC), in collaboration with the Office of International Relations (OIR), hosted 16 students from Manipal University College, Malaysia (Malaka Campus) for a Clinical Observership Program from 7th–13th September 2025. The students observed diverse clinical cases, live surgeries, advanced radiology, oncology treatments, and digital dentistry innovations. Hands-on training at the National Reference Simulation Center further enriched their learning by practically implementing and observing what they learnt in theory. The program concluded with a Valedictory Session, where certificates were awarded to the participants.

The Office of International Relations had the privilege to send five students (4 from MBBS, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences & 1 from BDS, Faculty of Dental Sciences) for an International Medical Summer School at the University of Manchester, UK, in collaboration with TC Global which provided an enriching global learning experience. The program combined clinical skill development with contemporary perspectives on global healthcare through interactive workshops on CPR, wound management, patient interactions, intercultural public health, and UK health policies. Students also explored emerging and interdisciplinary areas including Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Health Economics & Climate Change, Research and Data Analysis, Control of Communicable Diseases, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and Science Communication. The program strengthened their clinical competencies, research orientation, intercultural understanding, and awareness of global health challenges, offering valuable exposure to healthcare education within an international academic environment.

A B.Tech student participated in a short-term Global Immersion Program at Rektorat Udayana University, Bali. The program was designed to provide international exposure through academic learning, skill enhancement, and industry engagement. The student actively engaged in sessions focused on: Professional Development, Skill Development Programs, Industry-Oriented Curriculum through industrial visits. These activities provided practical insights into global industry practices and enhanced career readiness. Alongside academic learning, the student explored key cultural and tourist destinations including Tanjung Benoa Beach and participated in Night Safaris, enriching their global and cultural understanding.

Two Students from the Forensic Sciences program at SGT University participated in aOne-Month Outbound Student Exchange Program at Holy Angel University,Philippines from 23rd Feb – 21st March 2026. The program offered intensive academic and practical exposure in specialized areas such as Forensic Chemistry & Toxicology,Forensic Identification, Forensic Photography, Polygraphy, Firearms Identification, andQuestioned Document Examination. Through hands-on laboratory sessions, expert lectures , and collaborative projects, students gained valuable international experience and cross-cultural insights. The exchange not only enhanced their technical competences but also broadened their global perspective in forensic science practices and methodologies.

Four students from the School of Behavioral Sciences participated in a Semester Exchange Program at Keele University, UK, from 22 September 2025 to 10 January 2026. The program provided international academic exposure through specialized learning in Psychological Testing and Lie Detection Techniques, along with research-based learning and practical applications of psychological assessments. The experience strengthened students’ analytical skills, intercultural competence, adaptability, and global outlook, contributing to their academic and professional development.

OIR organised a Student Exchange Program in which five students from the Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University, attended the Program in Thumbay Rehab Centre, Thumbay, UAE in May 2024. Students visited the Thumbay Dental Centre as a part of the Exchange Program for 2 weeks, which was between 23rd February - 8th March, 2024. It was carried out on the ground floor (commercial floor) of Thumbay Dental Hospital, where students were given demonstrations by experienced doctors and technicians with complete guidance and attention. The students also gained hands-on exposure to their state-of-the-art equipment. Moreover, the students also got to observe their live patient treatment. The teaching methodology followed at GMU is a hybrid model in which conventional teaching methodology is combined with modern techniques. Teaching is carried out in small groups. From the second and third year onwards, students start working on phantom and simulation models, which include cavity preparations, crown cutting, scaling, implants, RCT, etc.

OIR organised a Student Exchange Program in which five students from the Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University, attended a Student Exchange Program in Thumbay Rehab Centre, Thumbay, UAE from 23rd February - 8th March, 2024. The students visited the Thumbay Rehabilitation Centre as part of the Exchange Program. The students were exposed to numerous assessment and treatment techniques using various advanced technologies and clinical evaluation methodologies.

The Faculty of Hotel & Tourism Management (FHTM), in collaboration with OIR, SGT University, organised an internship program for the University students. Under the program, the students of the FHTM attended internships in the French, UAE, and Thai hotels. To encourage students to explore continental cuisines and get in touch with the international flavours, students of FHTM attended an International Internship in the finest hotels in France, the USA, Thailand, etc, in May. The internship not only helped the students gain international exposure but also gave hands-on training on the culinary skills, familiarised them with the continental flavours and taught them how to create culturally inspired dishes.

The Office of International Relations in collaboration with the Faculty of Commerce & Management organised a Student Exchange Program to provide global exposure to our students. During the program, a few students visited the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK),Dubai, UAE for a week-long Internship. Moreover, the Faculty of Commerce and Management students have participated in two Global Immersion programs at Dubai and Malaysia, coordinated and organised by UAS International. The students gained practical exposure during the program by visiting various leading industries and attending sessions. The students gained professional certificates upon completing the program

The Faculty of Commerce & Management (FCAM), in collaboration with the Office of International Relations (OIR), organised a Student Exchange Programme for the SGT University students at MAHSA University, Malaysia. Under the program, sixteen students from the FCAM visited MAHSA University, Malaysia, from 18th - 22nd February 2025, to gain a holistic understanding of business and its policies. They gained valuable global perspectives, leadership skills, learned about World Trade Centre policies, acquisition & mergers and intercultural competencies. Moreover, this program offered the students a unique opportunity to experience international education, engage in cross-cultural learning, and broaden their academic and personal horizons. During this week-long exchange, students participated in interactive educational sessions such as Business and Compliance Standards, Global Market Strategies, and Acquisition and Mergers to cater to a globalised world, strive for career growth and add value and difference to the global village. Apart from academic learning, the program also included industrial visits, cultural immersion activities, and networking events with MAHSA faculty and students.

Four Students from the SGT University attended an outbound Semester Student Exchange Program for one semester at Keele University from 22nd January - 13th June, 2025 hosted by the Office of International Relations (OIR). Two of the four students belonged to the Department of Forensic Sciences, and the remaining two were from the Department of Psychology. During the program, Psychology students gained practical exposure by understanding the concepts of Mental Health through peer counselling. Whereas the Forensic students got the opportunity to attend hands-on learning exposure at their advanced Forensics lab.

The OIR organised a 15-day Global Immersion Programme for the Faculty of Physiotherapy, SGT University, at AIMST University, Malaysia. Students of the Faculty of Physiotherapy, along with Dr. Priyanka Rishi, Faculty Member, had the opportunity to attend a Global Immersion Program (GIP) at AIMST, Malaysia, from 19th April to 3rd May 2025. This initiative, aligned with the SGT University’s internationalisation goals, provided an enriching mix of academic learning, clinical exposure, cultural immersion, and international networking. The program was aimed at expanding the global perspectives of our students and faculty while promoting long-term academic collaborations.

The Investiture Ceremony of the Student Body of the Office of International Relations was successfully conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity at the university campus on 12th May 2026. The ceremony marked the formal induction of student representatives who will serve as ambassadors of global engagement, cultural exchange, and international collaboration within the university community. The event commenced with the ceremonial badge presentation and oath-taking, symbolizing the students‘ commitment towards leadership, responsibility, and teamwork. University dignitaries and faculty members addressed the gathering, encouraging the newly appointed student body to actively contribute towards promoting international opportunities, intercultural understanding, and student participation in global initiatives. The ceremony served as a platform to inspire leadership qualities, professionalism, and a spirit of global citizenship among students. It also reinforced the university‘s vision of fostering internationalization and empowering students to represent the institution at national and international levels.

The Office of International Relations in collaboration with the School of Hotel & Tourism Management conducted a visit to the Nagomi Restaurant. A group of 23 students from the School of Hotel & Tourism Management had the wonderful opportunity to visit Nagomi Family Dining for an immersive learning experience in authentic Japanese cuisine. Students explored the art of sushi making, learned proper dining etiquette, and practiced the traditional technique of holding chopsticks. They also gained insights into the Japanese concept of Omotenashi (selfless hospitality) and experienced authentic ingredients such as wasabi, soy sauce, pickles, and nori sheets.

The Office of International Relations organised an IELTS Orientation Seminar on 8 May 2026, led by Mr. Bhupender Aujla, Senior Manager – Strategic Alliances, IDP (North & East Zone). The session provided students with insights into the IELTS examination structure, scoring and preparation strategies, while highlighting its importance for international education and career opportunities. Students were also sensitised to fraudulent practices in overseas education services and encouraged to seek guidance from credible sources.

The Office of International Relations organized a seminar on providing Higher Education Opportunities in La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia‘ on 28th April 2026. The session was conducted by Dr. Amit Malhotra, Senior Regional Director, South Asia & Africa, La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia where he briefed about the courses in the La Trobe University, the eligibility criterion and the application procedures. Additionally, he mentioned the growing aged population in Australia demanding healthcare professionals across all streams such as doctors, nurses,psychologists along with some options of courses for the field of budding educators as well. He had also mentioned how different backgrounds of healthcare professionals can switch their career within the medical field such as students learning Ayurveda & Naturopathy can opt Nursing.

The Office of International Relations, in collaboration with the Faculty of Dental Sciences, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Griffith University on 20 March 2026 to strengthen international academic cooperation. The partnership promotes faculty and student exchange, joint teaching and research, academic pathways, collaborative grants, training programmes, study tours and short-term placements, particularly in Health Management and Dental Sciences, fostering enhanced global learning and academic engagement.

Seminar on Strengthening Safeguarding Practices in Educational Institutions
The Faculty of Education, in collaboration with the Office of International Relations, organized a seminar on ―Strengthening Safeguarding Practices in Educational Institutions‖ conducted by Ms. Helen Bowen, Head of School, Kings‘ College, India. The session highlighted the importance of safeguarding, risk assessment, and creating a safe and inclusive environment for students. Participants also learned about different forms of abuse, the role of Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs), and the importance of empathy, active listening, and proper reporting procedures to ensure student safety and well-being. The session was quite interactive as the students were given opportunities to discuss potential aspects within the group and share their insights with the speaker.

The Office of International Relations organized a Seminar on Health Services Management Graduate Certificate on 26th February 2026. The discussion was conducted by Dr. Mark Avery, Head of Global Partnerships, Griffith University. The session was primarily based on briefing the students regarding a Graduation Certificate on Health Services Management which they can acquire during their internship from Griffith University parallelly while being in SGT University. The discussion was insightful as students gained interest and were encouraged to ask questions for the same.

The Office of International Relations, SGT University, organised the Asia-Pacific Association for International Education (APAIE) – Building Capacity for Excellence in International Education (SGTU Edition) on 16–17 February 2026. The two-day programme convened academic leaders and international education experts to deliberate on global trends in internationalisation, sustainable internationalisation strategies, Transnational Education, the Erasmus Programme, Internationalisation at Home (IaH), contemporary pedagogical practices, and the international student experience. The programme also examined the evolving landscape of foreign universities establishing campuses in India, contributing to institutional capacity building and the advancement of SGT University’s internationalisation initiatives.

The Office of International Relations had organized an IELTS Masterclass for all the students across all faculties on 12th February 2026, Thursday by Ms. Medhavi Singh,Cambridge & British Council Certified IELTS Expert, IDP. The main objective is to give a brief of the IELTS Examination, its exam pattern and scoring criterion, to help the students gain fluency in English in terms of Listening, Speaking, Writing & Reading which can help them to partake in overseas education and develop Global CommunicationSkills. The session was quite interactive as sample questions were given to the students to solve in order to gain a fair understanding of how they perceived this test along with providing gifts to the students who gave the correct answer as a source of positive reinforcement.

The School of Behavioural Sciences in collaboration with Centre of Excellence forAndragogical and Pedagogical Sciences (CEAPS) and Office of International Relation,SGT University organized a two-day workshop titled ―Empowering Pedagogythrough the NALI UTM Model‖ was conducted on 19th–20th January 2026 at SGTUniversity. The primary objective of the workshop was to enhance educators‘competencies in innovative teaching practices, with a focus on Computational Thinking(CT), assessment strategies, and student-centred learning approaches.

The Office of International Relations conducted a productive meeting with Dr. Milka Ivanova, Course Director, Events, Tourism & Hospitality along with Mr. R. Duggal International Officer Marketing India, the representatives from Leeds Beckett University, UK to explore potential academic collaborations. The discussion focused on mapping courses for the Hotel & Tourism Management Program to create pathways for credit transfer and academic alignment. Both institutions also explored opportunities for student exchange, faculty exchange, and future joint initiatives aimed at enhancing global exposure and academic excellence. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with both sides expressing a strong interest in formalizing the partnership and moving forward with collaborative activities followed by a tour to the facilities of the School of Hotel & Tourism Management.

Two delegates, Ms. Suzannah Roach, Global Partnerships Officer & Ms. Ramita Taneja, Partnerships Manager from University of York, UK had visited the SGTU Campus to discuss about the prospective collaborations in Student Exchange Programs (semester - wise), joint research initiatives, 3+1+1 Programs along with the scope of articulation and progression of the programs from Undergraduate to Post Graduation. The Programs which were mainly highlighted were: School of Engineering & Technology and School of Emerging Media, Communication & Film Studies. The meeting further highlighted the financial affordability, the family background of the students to assess the overall costs involved for the program. Lastly, the meeting concluded with a meeting with the Hon‘ble Vice – Chancellor, Dr. Hemant Verma.

On 17th November 2025, few delegates, Dr. Dolores Sanchez Bengoa, the Vice –President of International Relations along with Mrs. Muge Akaoglanoglu, International Relations from University of Applied Management Studies (HdWM) visited SGTU. The interaction was based on mapping the courses for Management Studies as collaborations with them for the International Educational Programs for the SGTU students in the form of Student Exchange Programs, Global Immersion Programs are being discussed. And the meeting ended with the signing of a MoU between both the institutions.

On 14th Oct 2025, the Office of International Relations had the privilege to host a meeting between the Pro-Vost of Denver University, Dr. Uttiyo Raychaudduri and the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of SGT University, Prof. (Dr.) Hemant Verma and the Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof.(Dr.) Atul Kumar Nasa, Prof. (Dr.) Poornima Baliga took place to explore avenues for academic collaboration and institutional partnership. The discussion focused on the general introductions of both the Universities and potential areas of academic mutual interest. Both leaders emphasized on the importance of fostering long-term academic cooperation to enhance global engagement and knowledge sharing between the two institutions. Followed by a meeting with the Deans of SGT Global Business School, Schools Engineering & Sciences, Behavioural Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences & Liberal Arts to explore collaborative opportunities in the field of Business Analytics Research. The discussion focused on developing joint research initiatives, research projects, 3+1+1 projects and exchange programs with faculty and student exchange programs. Both institutions expressed a shared commitment to fostering interdisciplinary research, faculty and student exchange programs and the creation of 3+1+1 programs. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with an agreement to draft a roadmap for future collaboration.

Visit of Taksheela Institute of Education
On 9th October 2025, two delegates from Taksheela Institute of Education, Mr. Sumit Jalan and his colleague visited SGT university. The purpose of this visit is to discuss collaboration for the Global Immersion Program with universities in Berlin, Indonesia and Vietnam, designed specifically for our BCA and MCA students. The Berlin University Offers a 2-week Immersion Program at TU Berlin (QS #147) for B. Tech/MTech CSE & MCA students, starting early January. And the Indonesian university offers a one-week cultural immersion program focused on content production, media skills, creative workshops, industry exposure, and cultural excursions. The Vietnamese program spans 10 days and emphasizes leadership, sustainability, design thinking, and cultural through interactive workshops and company visits.
