Sports Physiotherapy
The Department of Sports Physiotherapy at SGT University is dedicated to
the science and art of optimizing athletic
performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation across all levels of sports
participation—from grassroots to elite.
With a commitment to excellence in clinical practice, education, and research, the
department prepares students to meet
the unique demands of athletes and physically active individuals.
The curriculum emphasizes the integration of exercise science, biomechanics, manual therapy,
and functional training into
the rehabilitation and performance enhancement of athletes. Students are trained to assess
and manage acute, chronic,
and overuse injuries across different sports disciplines using modern diagnostic and
therapeutic tools.
The department boasts cutting-edge sports labs, motion analysis systems, IASTM, Cupping,
cryotherapy and thermotherapy
modalities, as well as advanced tools for proprioceptive and neuromuscular retraining.
Students are actively involved in
injury surveillance, field-side assessment and provide advanced training, provide advanced
rehabilitation, and
return-to-play decision-making in real-time scenarios.
A distinctive feature is the
department’s collaboration with sports academies, schools, and professional teams,
providing students with immersive experiences through on-field internships, sports camps,
and event-based injury
management opportunities.
