"INARA- 2023" Fresher's Party
The "INARA- 2023" Fresher's Party was held on September 25, 2023, at the Shooting Hall on the ground floor of the A-Block at SGT University for the newly enrolled UG and PG students in the Faculty of Science. The purpose of the Freshers' Party was to introduce new students to the university community and provide them an exciting and enjoyable time. Hip-hop culture's energy and vitality served as the event's theme. The festivities began with a welcoming tikka ceremony for all newly admitted students from the FOSC 2023 admission batch as well as for the invited dignitaries, heads from different FOSC departments, judges, faculty members, and other invited guests. The Dean FOSC, Prof. (Dr.) Lakhwinder Singh, as well as some student representatives then performed the symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony.
Speaking to the group, the respected Dean of FOSC emphasised the value of students' academic achievement, personal development, and involvement in the community. A classical dance opened the students' performances. Students were able to embrace the culture while expressing their flair and originality through the fashion show with a hip-hop theme. With strong audience engagement, spontaneous dance bouts demonstrated students' love of hip-hop dance. The pupils engaged in a variety of enjoyable and demanding games to liven up the environment. The event included the bestowing of titles such "Mr. & Miss. Charming," "Mr. & Miss. Talented," and "Mr. & Miss. Fresher." These accolades acknowledged the incoming students' excellent abilities and accomplishments, fostering self-expression and self-assurance. The event was concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr Mandeep Kaur, Head of the Department of Forensic Science.
