Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla
Professor (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, Professor in Pharmaceutics, has a demonstrated history of working in the pharmaceutical education management industry. He is skilled in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Research, Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and Pharmacovigilance. A seasoned healthcare professional, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a specialization in Clinical Pharmacy.
Currently, Prof. Bhalla is working as the Registrar at SGT University, Gurugram, Haryana. He joined in August 2016 as Professor and Principal at SGT College of Pharmacy, where he developed all five departments and established the Centre of Excellence. He has also chaired various monitoring committees at the University.
Prof. Bhalla is an alumnus of Delhi University and brings approximately 18 years of industry experience working with the Swiss Multinational NOVARTIS India Limited, where he served in various capacities before transitioning to academia. He has also contributed to the development sector through HLL Lifecare Limited (HLFPPT), working on projects under the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh as Capacity Building Manager and Operations Manager.
Prof. Bhalla has more than 10 years of experience as a faculty member at Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam Technical University and other affiliated educational institutions, imparting Pharmacy Education.
Dr. Bhalla, recipient of the K C Chatterjee Memorial Award in 2023, has also been the Chair and Member, Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Northern Regional Committee on Lifesciences & Biotech, HQ -Panchkula, and a pioneer in conducting virtual industrial visits in seven different sectors for many institutions, has coined the term 'PharmaSKILLuticals' for online skill-building experiences.
Furthermore, Dr. Bhalla is a nominated trainer for pharmacists with the Directorate of
Health
Services (DGHS), NCT
Delhi, and serves as National Treasurer of the Indian Pharmacy Graduates' Association
(IPGA), an
association of more
than 9500 life members of pharmacy graduates from across the Country.
Dr. Bhalla has also been awarded the IPGA Fellowship Award 2013 and the IPGA Professional
Excellence Award 2014;

Dr. Bhalla has guided 40 M.Pharm and 8 Ph.D. students and serves as the Editor-in-Chief of IPGA Today. He has organized several national conferences, including the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress, and has served as a chairperson and resource person at over 60 national conferences. He has also received financial grants from the Haryana State Council for Science & Technology (HSCST), Chandigarh; SERB/DST; and PCI for conducting national conferences and faculty development programs.
Dr. Bhalla is a life member of FIP, IPGA, IPA, IHPA, and APTI. He has attended FIP events in Glasgow, Scotland, and at AIMST University, Malaysia.
