Basant Utsav 2024

Spring is nature’s way of saying” Let’s Bloom”……Keeping this in spirit SGT University’s 6th flower show Basant Utsav-2024 was organized by Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.

The one-day (19th February 2024) event was organised in the lush green University Garden. The perfect weather, slow breeze and splashing green grass were all the ingredients for a perfect flower show to begin. Students, faculties and other staff from various departments came in good numbers to enjoy the flower show.

The chief guests of the event, Dr. S.S. Sindhu Yadav Principal Scientist, Ex. Dean, Prof. & Head, Division of Floriculture and Landscaping & School Coordinator, Horticultural Sciences, ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi, eminent personality who needed no introduction were kind enough to inaugurate the event. Despite of his busy schedule, he was perfectly on time and took a keen interest in all the detailing of all type of flowers.

After the opening, there was no looking back, people of all age groups came in large numbers to see nature’s beauty.

The beauty and fragrance of different cut and loose flowers, and the eye-catching arrangement of various flower groups were just perfect for everyone to see what nature holds for us. All the stallholders were in full zeal to show their products.

All the participants had arranged their entries and shared their knowledge and experience with others. So, the flower show gave an opportunity to people to know the wide range of plants that can be grown in the locality.
