Educational Tour to IARI

The students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences visited the Indian Agriculture Research Institute, Pusa, New Delhi, on 09-09-2024. The main objective of the visit was to provide agriculture students with practical exposure to the advancements in agricultural technologies, historical insights into farming practices, and modern horticulture techniques. This visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and its practical application in the field.

The visit began with a tour of the Agriculture Museum, where the students learned about traditional farming tools, ancient irrigation methods, and indigenous crops that have been cultivated over the centuries. After the museum visit, the students were taken to the Centre for Protected Cultivation Technology, where they observed various types of greenhouses and learned about the benefits of controlled environments for growing vegetables, flowers, and exotic plants. The students were enthusiastic throughout the visit and actively participated in discussions with the experts. The students also participated in Agritech Summit, 2024 with the theme The Future of Farming: Sowing the Seeds of Change held at NASC Complex, Pusa Complex, New Delhi.

The educational visit was highly informative and engaging. It not only enhanced the student's knowledge of historical and modern agricultural practices but also inspired them to adopt innovative techniques in their future endeavours.
