International Engagement Visit to AARDO

Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University continues to strengthen its global outreach and commitment towards sustainable rural development through meaningful international engagements.
Dr. Pooja Pant, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, SGT University, along with Dr. R.K. Yadav, Professor, Natural Resource Management (NRM) & Former Director, ICAR-CSSRI, and Dr. O.P.S. Khola, Professor & Head, Natural Resource Management (NRM), visited the African-Asian Rural Development Organization (AARDO), an inter-governmental organization representing 36 African and Asian member countries.
The team had a highly productive interaction with Mr. Rami Qtaishat, Assistant Secretary General, AARDO, and Dr. Khushnood Ali, Head, Research & Programme Planning and Policy (PPP) Divisions, AARDO. Discussions focused on advancing collaborative initiatives in rural development, climate-resilient agriculture, capacity building, agripreneurship development, student engagement, and international training programmes.
The meeting also highlighted the pivotal role of higher education institutions in empowering rural communities, promoting sustainable agricultural practices, and nurturing future-ready agripreneurs through global partnerships and knowledge exchange. Opportunities for collaborative programmes benefiting farming communities and rural youth across member countries were actively explored.
