Dr. Anupam Singh, PhD, HoD, Crop Improvement, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences is with SGT University since 12th August 2024. By training, he is a plant genetics, genomics,bio-Statistics, bioinformatics molecular breeding and breeding expert. He completed his doctoral research from G.G.S. Inderprastha University, and the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi, India. He was associated with National Phytotron Facility and Division of Genetics, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi as a Senior Research fellow. Thereafter, he worked in Bioseed Research India, DSM Shriram, ICRISAT, Hyderabad, India as a team lead-molecular breeding. Before joining SGT University, Dr Anupam was associated with Mahindra Agri Solutions Ltd., Hyderabad, India, as a Manager, Technology Deployment, Seeds R&D. He, involved in training industrial staff and university students for the industrial applications of molecular breeding and predictive breeding. His industrial and national institutes experience, along with his familiarity with the ICAR systems, significantly enhanced the value of his unique skills. He is credited with one international awards – “Best Young Researcher Award, for presenting the oral talk entitled: Identification and validation of a microsatellite marker for the seedling resistance gene Lr24 in bread wheat, At the “World Congress and Expo on Applied Microbiology” held in Frankfurt, Germany. He is serving editorial boards of reputed journals of international repute, including - Frontiers in Plant Breeding. Dr Anupam is a lifetime member of Society for Advancement of Wheat and Barley Research. He has published over 19 research articles in journals of international repute with Google Scholar h-index of 25 & Scopus h-index of 6.
