Dr. Iqra Farooq
Assistant Professor

Dr. Iqra Farooq is an academic and researcher in the field of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture, holding a Ph.D. from SKUAST-Kashmir with research expertise on Tissue culture technologies, molecular biology and agrotechnologies in floriculture. With over three years of experience at Council of Scientific and Industrial Research - Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, Jammu under the national CSIR Floriculture Mission and CSIR Aroma Mission she has worked extensively on protected cultivation, crop improvement, agro- technological interventions in ornamental and aromatic crops and capacity building in Floriculture sector. Her professional contributions including mentoring startups, conducting 49+ trainings/workshops, and guiding Self Help Groups (SHGs) under NRLM (National Rural Livelihood Mission) to promote floriculture-based entrepreneurship across Jammu and Kashmir under CSIR Floriculture Mission. She is also the founder of Nature BioTech Labs, a Cordyceps-based nutraceutical venture and signed an MoU with Atal Innovation Centre–CSIR-IIIM Jammu. Dr. Iqra authored 13 peer-reviewed articles with a cumulative impact factor of 51.107, authored and edited 3 Institutional publications, contributed 7 book chapters, and presented at 31+ national and international conferences.
