Dr. Iqra Farooq
Assistant Professor
Dr. Iqra Farooq is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Division of Horticultural Sciences at FASC, SGT University. She specializes in Floriculture and Landscape Architecture and holds a Ph.D. from SKUAST-Kashmir. Her research expertise includes tissue culture technologies, molecular biology, and agrotechnological interventions in floriculture. She has over five years of professional and research experience, including significant contributions at CSIR-IIIM Jammu under the Floriculture and Aroma Missions. Her work focuses on protected cultivation, crop improvement, and innovations in ornamental and aromatic crops. She has actively contributed to entrepreneurship development by mentoring startups and conducting 49+ training programs while supporting SHGs under NRLM in Jammu & Kashmir. She is also the founder of Nature BioTech Labs, a nutraceutical venture. Her academic contributions include 13 research publications, 7 book chapters, and participation in more than 20 conferences.
