Dr. Nitesh Singh
Assistant Professor (Plant Pathology)
Dr. Nitesh Singh, Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology is with SGT University, since January 2023. He has made significant contributions in the national and international arena and has received several awards and honours for scientific research. His academic contributions include international scientific papers, reviews, book reviews, book chapters, edited and authored books published by American Chemical Society, Frontiers, Elsevier, Springer Nature, Taylor & Francis, and Wiley, as well as conference papers, popular science articles, and well-published articles. He has one years of teaching experience and received his PhD (2022) in Botany from Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh. After his PhD thesis completion, he served as an Assistant Professor at Department of Biosciences, University Institute of Biotechnology, Chandigarh University, Punjab (July, 2022 – January, 2023). He also holds editorial position in journals. He is serving in many capacities like reviewer in scientific journals, environmental consultant to industries, and other committees in the university. Dr. Singh was awarded 2020 Junior Young Scientist of the Year Award by one of the eight national academies i.e, National Environmental Science Academy. Dr. Singh is a member of Advisory Committee of Dharti International Foundation working to promote environmental conservation under the project of Bharat Nadi Abhiyan “Mission 500 Crore Plantation Drive”. He is an active member of the Scientific and Engineering Research Society and National Environmental Science Academy. His areas of research interest are Phyto-chemistry, Plant microbe interaction, Crop Protection, Bio/phytoremediation, Microbial Wastewater Treatment, and Nanoremediation. At present, Dr. Singh is engaged in research to identify bioactive compounds effective against phytopathogens and sustainable environmental remediation technologies for pollution prevention and control. He is a nature lover and has a dedicated cause for environmental protection.
