Prof. (Dr.) A. Selvapandiyan

Prof. (Dr.) A. Selvapandiyan is a distinguished academician, researcher,
and administrator
with over 38 years of
experience in research, postgraduate teaching, academic leadership, regulatory affairs, and
institutional development.
His areas of expertise include medicine, molecular cell biology, diagnostics, immunology,
vaccinology, and translational
research.
Over the course of his illustrious career, he has served in several prestigious national and
international
organizations, including UNIDO, International Centre for Genetic Engineering and
Biotechnology (ICGEB), U.S. Food and
Drug Administration (FDA), Institute of Molecular Medicine, New Delhi, and Jamia Hamdard,
New Delhi. Prior to joining
SGT University, he served as Professor and Dean, School of Interdisciplinary Sciences and
Technology at Jamia Hamdard,
where he provided academic and administrative leadership to multiple departments.
Prof. (Dr.) A. Selvapandiyan has made significant contributions to vaccine development,
diagnostics, and infectious
disease research. His pioneering work on gene-deleted live attenuated vaccines against
leishmaniasis has received
international recognition. He holds several Indian and U.S. patents and has published
extensively in high-impact
scientific journals. His distinguished achievements have been recognized through several
prestigious honors, including
the NIH Fellows Award for Research Excellence (FARE), FDA Scientific Achievement Award, FDA
CBER Group Award, and
Fellowship of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (FAMS).
His extensive experience in research, academic administration, institutional development,
and international
collaborations will be invaluable in advancing the School of Allied Health Sciences and
strengthening SGT University’s
commitment to excellence in education, research, and healthcare innovation.
