Dr. Promod Mehta
Professor
Dr. Promod Mehta is an expert in the field of ‘Tuberculosis Research’, who has been working in this area for the last 35 years. He has a Ph.D. degree (Microbiology) from Panjab University, Chandigarh (1988), in collaboration with PGIMER, Chandigarh and postdoctoral research training from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, USA (1994- 96) and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, NE, USA (1999-01). Dr Mehta served as a Lecturer-Associate Professor (Microbiology) for about 20 years at Delhi University College. He availed several opportunities to work as a Visiting Assistant Professor in good labs in USA on academic leave from Delhi University. He worked as a Professor, Centre for Biotechnology (CBT), MD University, Rohtak for ~10 years and as a Director for three years (2015-18). He also worked as an Emeritus Scientist (CSIR) at CBT, MDU, Rohtak for more than three years. Dr Mehta acquired extramural funding from UGC, ICMR, DBT, DST and Haryana Council Higher Education to support his research. He has 73 publications in reputed International Journals to his credit. He presented many papers and oral talks and published many abstracts in various national and international seminars/conferences.
