National Debate Competition – “Robotics: Science of Precision vs Human Emotion”

The National Debate Competition was conducted across four sessions, and explored the theme of robotics versus human emotions, with participants presenting compelling arguments on both sides. Proponents of robotics highlighted its role in enhancing precision, supporting healthcare, disaster management, vaccine development, and reducing human casualties in wars, while advocates for human emotions stressed the irreplaceable value of empathy, morality, consciousness, and human judgment. The finale featured thought-provoking interventions from the judges, including discussions on real-life ethical challenges involving AI, leading to vibrant exchanges among participants. The event was marked by insightful arguments, enthusiastic audience engagement, and powerful reflections on the relationship between technology and humanity. The programme concluded with remarks by Guest of Honour Mr. Sudhir D, Chief Operating Officer, Fourth Square, who underscored the importance of balancing technological advancement with human values.
