Dr Indu Bala is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Behavioural Sciences, Shree Guru Govind Singh Tricentenary University ( SGT). She is also an RCI(Rehabilitation Council of India) licensed Clinical Psychologist, specialising in Behavioural Addiction and Clinical Psychology. She completed her PhD, and her doctoral research explored exercise addiction, stress, eating disorders and body Image issues among female amateur runners. With over 15 years of combined experience across academia, clinical practice and industry, Dr. Indu has a strong academic and professional portfolio. She has supervised several doctoral scholars with four PhDs, successfully completed four more currently in progress. Her teaching and clinical interests include counselling, psychological testing and diagnostics, behavioural addictions, adolescent and parenting issues, and mind–body interventions through yoga and meditation. Her research contributions include more than 10 peer-reviewed publications in Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed-indexed journals, as well as two UK-registered patents on employee behaviour analysis and digital training systems. She has presented at over 15 national and international conferences. Beyond academia, Dr. Indu is committed to mental health advocacy and social well-being. She also supports female athletes from low-income backgrounds and has provided therapeutic support to cancer patients at Roko Cancer Foundation. As a marathon runner, yoga instructor, and wellness advocate, she integrates holistic practices into psychology, embodying resilience and comprehensive well-being. Her memberships include the American Psychological Association (APA), the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists, and the Society for Addiction Psychology, a lifetime member of Mental Health Action by People (MAP) Society, an NGO registered under NITI Ayog.
